2.3
An average university with basic infrastructure.
Tips: I moved to Berlin from India, and the transition was seamless. I adapted readily, but I did not secure any campus scholarships, primarily due to insufficient preliminary research. While I am satisfied with the basic infrastructure, I am dissatisfied with the support system. Communication is limited to email, which precludes in-person meetings. Throughout my time here, I have consistently felt safe and secure, thanks to the comprehensive and well-executed security protocols in place. The presence of security personnel is both reassuring and effective. The guards are always visible, approachable, and professional, which significantly contributes to a secure environment. Their regular patrols and quick response times to any incidents ensure that any potential threats are swiftly addressed. The campus is equipped with a robust surveillance system. The strategically placed cameras cover all critical areas, including entrances, exits, and common spaces. This not only acts as a deterrent to any malicious activities but also provides a reliable means of monitoring and reviewing any incidents that may occur.
Dislikes (Internships): Until now, I have not received any internship offers from the college, which has been a significant disappointment. The lack of support and guidance regarding job and internship opportunities is evident. Despite numerous inquiries, the response from the college staff has been consistently unhelpful and vague. It seems there is no structured system to assist students in securing internships or jobs, which is a critical aspect of our education and future careers. The career services department appears to be effective and disorganized. No workshops, seminars, or information sessions to help students prepare for the job market. The absence of networking events or connections with industry professionals further exacerbates the issue. When we sought advice or information, the staff either did not have the answers or provided outdated and irrelevant information.

The university is only focusing on making money rather than supporting students.
Tips: 95% of the students are from India, so it always feels like home, the university only gives benefits to going to Germany. The professors are not permanent and come on an hourly basis, so they don't have any idea about anything. There was a lack of internship opportunities on campus. Internships are crucial for gaining practical experience, and colleges should collaborate with companies to enhance student's skills and career prospects. Overall, I am not satisfied with my experiences here.
Likes (Indian Food): There are a lot of Indian restaurants and stores in the area, and you can find food from every state in India. The food is a bit expensive, but you can afford to eat out at least once a month. You can also order Indian groceries and food online.

Everything is perfect. The university is located at a prime location.
Tips: Before joining this college, students must learn German, which is essential for networking. The professors are very friendly and are always willing to help. They are very good at solving problems on campus and online. I was in an accident on campus and they were very helpful in getting me the help I needed.
Likes (Part time work): Everything at IU International University of Applied Sciences is excellent, and I've seen excellent service. The only drawback for international students is that they must learn German because some people face problems after graduation.

IU isn’t worth paying so high tuition fees so choose your university/college wisely.
Tips: The tuition fees at IU are very high, and students need to work off their assets to pay for them. This leaves little time to concentrate on studies. In addition, the university faculty doesn't provide any support in finding internships, which makes things even harder. Even after completing your degree, you will face problems in getting a full-time job.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation in Hamburg is excellent. The city is well connected, and having an amazing transportation system adds to its appeal. Buses and trains are usually on time and well maintained. Most railway stations have washrooms, which is a nice convenience.

The coursework is great for an MBA.
Tips: Before you decide to join, it's essential to commit ample time to your studies and ensure that you can work efficiently. Participation in this endeavour requires a serious approach. It should not be treated lightly. Furthermore, be prepared to immerse yourself in the German language, as language proficiency will play a vital role in your success.
Likes (Safety): Germany stands out as an exceptionally secure place, offering a welcoming environment for both men and women. I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to visit and experience the warmth and safety that Germany has to offer.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The experience is incredibly welcoming and accommodating. One of the standout features is the flexibility offered and everything is tailored to meet your specific needs and preferences. Additionally, the services are budget-friendly, making it a great option for anyone looking to manage costs without sacrificing quality.

IU Berlin is the best low cost college in Berlin.
Tips: Students should know that it is a private college self-study where people can do their best even without the support of the college. There are lots of Indians in this college, and it doesn't feel like this is a foreign university, and the fees are also low compared to other universities like SRH and UE Berlin.
Likes (Student Life): Student life is amazing, but if you don't find a job, surviving in the city will be a major headache as the cost of living is very high. It is to be noted that there is no major support from the college side regarding academics as everything is focused on a self-study basis.
Dislikes (Internships): Good exposure and lots of opportunities for people who are really interested in teaching. Also, the summers are amazing to find an internship since many jobs are vacant as people go on vacation. I would suggest applying outside Berlin, where many opportunities are available.

Tips: Students should be mentally prepared to be able to experience everything new, the transition may be the hardest part. It is a price of education, but it's worth the degree you get at the end of it and even more compared with other universities. Look out for part-time jobs as there are many part time opportunities.

A rich and supportive college experience.
Tips: Students should know that the college offers a supportive environment, excellent faculty, and a wide variety of extracurricular activities. It's important to be open to new experiences and be prepared to interact with a diverse community. The transition has been smooth, thanks to a welcoming community and support services. There was a cultural exchange, as I met people from different backgrounds and embraced new traditions, which broadened my horizons. I got a merit-based scholarship for which I submitted my academic record and personal statement and applied. The scholarship partially covered my tuition, reducing my financial burden considerably. The university offers a high-quality education, my curriculum is engaging and relevant, and the state provides a safe and healthy environment for students. The whole experience has been pleasant and satisfying.

It will be a good experience if you prefer private college.
Tips: After coming to Germany I have realised life is not about work, it's a mixture of both work and fun. It depends on you, how well you are trained in time management. The curriculum is good in the University and the professors are supportive. Don't expect that college will help you in finding a part-time or full-time job. You have to make your connections and strategies accordingly. Keep passing exams and the university will not say anything otherwise there are many other consequences. You can get a scholarship if you have completed a Master's from a reputed University and are interested in pursuing an MBA or you pay the entire fee in one go so you get some discount. The university is good but the campus is like a corporate office so I didn't like the campus much. The country is beautiful and a great place to live but make sure you make many friends otherwise depression will find you.
Likes (Public transportation): Great connectivity as it just takes 49 Euros for a Deutschland ticket and you are free to go anywhere. Mode of transport: S Bahn, U Bahn, Tram, Bus. If your accommodation is far from the campus you can take RE, or RB rather than go for another mode. Public transport is affordable due to the monthly pass of 49 Euros.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Germany has very few options like Doner and that too is Turkish. I can't compare it with the rich Indian food although in Berlin you can easily find Indian restaurants to Mexican restaurants. As an International student, it is difficult to eat outside on a daily basis but I eat outside once or twice a week.

The curriculum meets the market standards.
Tips: You are not asked to come to college every day so you can utilise the time for a part-time job. The college is mostly a mall-like structure, exams would be conducted online even if you are in Germany. I completed my 3 exams from the first semester. It was quite easy I didn't spend more than 5 hours per subject. However, the opportunities are limited for part-time so it might take a while for you to find one.

An enriching and supportive college experience.
Tips: Students should know that this college offers a supportive and engaging environment with diverse opportunities for academic and self-growth. It is important to be open-minded and ready to take advantage of the many resources and activities available. The transition was smooth, thanks to the welcoming community and comprehensive orientation programs. There was a cultural shift, but it was enriching. I experienced new traditions and perspectives which broadened my understanding and appreciation of different cultures. I got a scholarship based on my academic achievements. I had to submit my transcripts, a personal statement, and some recommendations. The scholarship helped a lot, covering part of the living expenses. The university provides top-notch education and great resources. My course is both challenging and rewarding, and the country offers a safe, lively environment for students from different countries. The campus offers a vibrant, engaging environment with a wide range of opportunities to connect with others. The sense of community is strong, and there's always something fun or interesting happening. I spend my days attending classes, studying and participating in various activities. What I enjoy the most is the dynamic social life, meeting new people, joining clubs, and attending events. It creates a well-rounded and fulfilling college experience. Our campus hosts a variety of events including cultural festivals, academic seminars, sports competitions and social gatherings. I participate in these events regularly, as they offer great opportunities to learn. There are numerous student clubs and communities on our campus, ranging from academic and professional organizations to hobby and interest groups. These include clubs for teaching, arts, sports, cultural exchange and more providing something for everyone. Overall, I'm very happy with my university, course and the country I'm in.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): I rated the faculty a 5 because they are incredibly experienced, knowledgeable and genuinely care about our success. Their teaching is clear, engaging and great. They show a real passion for their subjects. Our faculty is very approachable and they hold regular work, quickly respond to emails and are willing to help with any concerns we have. Our department combines traditional lectures with interactive discussions and hands-on projects. This mix helps us grasp theoretical concepts deeply while gaining practical skills. Our teaching faculty is quite diverse, with members from various cultural backgrounds. This diversity brings in a range of global insights, improving our learning experience.

Lectures are really good and the faculty is helpful and understanding.
Tips: Students should know that every subject will have its exam and exams will be strict and difficult. Questions will be in 4 types, one is multiple choice another is one line answers questions, 3rd type will be short answers questions and the last one will be essay. Besides that the transportation services are great so explore the country while enjoying your student life.
Likes (Post study jobs): On-campus interviews are good in IU. One of my friends who studied at IU 3 years before got a full-time job from a campus interview. The placement cell will help you if you pass the subjects. They will help you prepare a CV, interview, etc.
Dislikes (Part time work): It is difficult to get a part-time job in Berlin. Almost all the jobs they are asking for require B2-level German knowledge. Also after the April intake lot of students came to Berlin to study so almost all the openings for English-speaking jobs are full now so hopefully, in October more openings will be there.

Likes (Safety): Campus security is good and the environment is safe for students. There are many places to visit in the city which I am still exploring. Also, a number of activities are available for relation. Try to avoid staying late at night as it can be dangerous anywhere in the world.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The food and taste are average for the price we pay. That's why I avoid eating out as it doesn't provide the same taste as our home country. Dislikes (Post study jobs): Post-study jobs are good as the campus is located in Berlin which is the capital of Germany. Tips: Students should know about their course, area of study, and job opportunities. If you are selecting an MBA, check the offered specializations and choose the demand subject, prepare for the job-related interviews on the same. Participate in the university job fair and learn about the job market.
Likes (Post study jobs): Good jobs are available post-study. Visa sponsor jobs are limited but not difficult, try to find the visa sponsored jobs from the first year itself, if you are facing difficulties, search various job portals available online and try to find and apply as much as possible. You can also use LinkedIn to build connections and apply for jobs.
Dislikes (Indian Food): For vegetarians, limited options are available. You need to search and travel a bit to find vegetarian food and for Indians, there are a few restaurants available but the price is a bit high and the taste is average so it is better to cook ourselves and enjoy the food.

Drexel, a life of hustle that pays off.
Tips: Students must make up their mind to adapt to a hustle life since the quarter system is fast and demanding. Culturally, there were no problems for me personally. Scholarships depend on your academic integrity and accomplishments. You can apply for external scholarships if you have the backing of a professor and meet the requirements for the scholarship/fellowship.
Likes (Student Life): Drexel has decent amenities like a park and a recreational center for sports that students can use to catch up on their personal life. Drexel clubs also organise many activities. It totally depends on how the student will use these amenities. There are clubs for all sorts of things from academic to entertainment to sports.
Dislikes (Part time work): I see a lot of students struggling to get part time jobs either in college or with partner companies on campus. Tips: Overall satisfaction (for MS in MLE): 4/5 I have a partial scholarship. Drexel has many international students, and this helped me transition easier to the new environment. I met some of my friends by being a part of Drexel's clubs like SWE and WiCS.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty members are usually approachable, and willing to help students. Drexel follows a quarter system, and the College of Engineering is quite research-oriented. The classes have a good mix of theoretical and project-based activities. Most of my professors are American, but I've had professors from other countries occasionally.
Dislikes (Safety): Drexel University campus is located near the Powelton area and West Philly, which is not the safest area in Philly. There have been cases of armed robbery near Drexel's campus, and I do not feel completely safe to walk by myself at night in the Powelton and Mantua neighborhoods.

MS in Data Science - Batch of 2025

Everything is good except for its tuition fees which is a lot compared to other universities.
Tips: I came to Drexel University directly, and there is a shift in culture which obviously different from my country India. I got dean assistantship and there is no other scholarship in CCI for Computer Science, Data Science, Information Science. You can apply for external scholarships.
Likes (Public transportation): There are university buses, public transport which is very handy to travel place to place. It is not totally connected to the city, but it is only 10-15 mins away which we can go by public or Drexel transportation. There are buses, trails, trains, cab.
Dislikes (Part time work): On-Campus jobs at Drexel university are very limited like only a max of 10 out of 100 people and off-campus is not so safe as Philadelphia is the top city in crime. If you get a part time, it is very easy to manage with academics. Average pay-out for on-campus placements will be around 13$.

At Drexel University you need to put effort on your own.
Tips: Students coming here should thoroughly review the course and because it is the quarter system it is going to be very fast-paced so need to cope up with it. I emailed the admission team to request a scholarship and received around 12000$. I would say after my first quarter the course taught was interesting you should put your efforts into learning and ask questions to professors.

BS in Business Administration - Batch of 2023

City is unsafe but the course is excellent.
Tips: Scholarships offered: there are multiple scholarships the school offers. Please read up on some that you will be eligible for. Co-op programme: The best part about Drexel is the coop programme that allows you to work for up to 1 year for a role related to your study. Part time work opportunities: Many on-campus opportunities that allow students to gain different experiences.
Likes (Public transportation): Great connectivity as well as a free bus service: there are subways station all over campus that make commute easier but not just that, there are school buses that take you around Philly throughout the day to make commute easier for students. It is also free for all Drexel students.
Dislikes (Safety): Multiple safety incidents on campus including shootings, carjackings, and robberies. Most part of the campus is safe but moving ahead of campus it can get a little scary, especially at night. Near unsafe neighborhoods of Philly: university city is the Drexel and UPenn campus together. Though there are many public safety offices around both campus through the night. Moving West from our campus, the unsafe neighbourhoods of Philly are present. Be aware and careful when moving around there, especially at night.
