Internship opportunities available at KPU
Tips: Professors expect students to do more self-study, unlike the system we have in India where most of the learning is done in class. Here we need to do a little bit of practice at home. My programme is a bit taxing and the level of difficulty is high as compared to other post bacc programs in KPU. Overall, Canada has a lot of full-time and part-time opportunities for students and the pay rate is also good.
Likes (Internships): There are various internship opportunities available at KPU and they also provide help in finding suitable internships that satisfy our needs. KPU also conduct webinars and workshop from time to time where experts tell students how to write an effective cover letter and resume.
Dislikes (Value for money): I think the tuition fee is a bit too high for the programme that I'm pursuing. As it's just a Post Bacc Diploma, not even a master's degree and I pay around 8-9k each semester. In addition, I also have to pay extra for subscriptions to online platforms where electronic textbooks are available for my courses.

Good university. International students can consider to join.
Tips: Its a good university and can be considered. Transportation is good. Study is all from the books, not much practical knowledge. Books are expensive too. Not many food options in campus but helpful staff. Registration gets tough sometimes due to huge crowd.
Likes (Public transportation): Bus is available right outside college. Good for transportation as its center of the city. Accommodation is available, just need to find it. Bus pass is given by the university so they can be used. Good transportation. Sky train is accessible by bus. Other cities are close.
Dislikes (Internships): Not much diversity of students in school. Not much practical work other than group projects. Books are really expensive. Finding an internship depends on the course and luck. University can help too. So it all depends on your effort. Good effort by the college.

Diverse and inclusive of all castes, races and genders
Tips: I am pretty satisfied with my life in Canada here, it is working out for the best of my interest. The work-life balance is a little bit of a concern sometimes. The transition has been better for me because of my family here. I wouldn't want it any other way.
Likes (Safety): There are a number of events going on the campus on a day-to-day basis. This promotes better communication between the students. I have organised a couple of events and they have been pretty successful. International students really value the events.
Dislikes (Indian Food): My university promotes diversity and inclusivity in all possible senses. The professors take into account that students have a life apart from the university and take care of their students. The teachers make it easy for the students with the workload.

Students get more opportunities and also experience diverse environment.
Tips: Surrey campus is real welcoming. I got to experience different cultures doing the assignments and sports together. We can also apply for scholarships up to 500 dollars every couple of months by submitting an essay.
Likes (Safety): I used to spend most of my time in college library where I got access to several books. Friends were a good part of college life. Our campus used to organise science fairs which was really an impeccable thing for me. In addition, I also joined the music club during my campus era.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Faculty department is very helpful. You can go there anytime to get your doubts clear. Also, students have library open where they can loan any book and do the assignments. They can also get a study room for themselves for personal studies without any distractions.

Lenient teachers, light schedule.
Tips: Students should know that after making such a big journey and going to another country for studies, there will be many cultural shocks. In Canada's case, most of them are positive. The college mostly has a light time table so it is very suitable for doing a part time job and most of the teachers are very lenient. Getting a scholarship or bursaries is really hard, as I did not get one even after having a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Maintaining a good work life balance!
Tips: After the transition, initially, it takes time for the student to get familiarised with the new cultural shift. Alone figuring out all the things and settling up in a new country by themselves is difficult.
The study experience was really nice, got to know various different aspects and the teaching mainly focuses on letting the students work by themselves to get a nag of the project and assignments.

More than just a place to study.
Tips: Students must check the pathways after the completion of their studies. Other than this, they must also look for part-time opportunities within the city because the transportation facilities of this city are not that good. Overall, I would say that it is a good college to go on with and you will enjoy a lot of good experiences here.
Likes (Value for money): After the course, co-op internships are really good. The expenses in this city are very less when compared to other big cities, so you can save a lot of money in your student life and hence, it will help you to get settled in a new country.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Buses are there after every half an hour which means if you are late by a minute then you will have to wait for another half hour. Sometimes, it even makes us late for our jobs, because of which if you are coming to this city then you are always expected to be there before time, if you want to reach your destination on time.
