The admission is based on upper secondary degree certificates. University-level certificates are not taken into consideration in the academic evaluation.
The requirements for grades are as follows, on a scale of failed to excellent:
- Arithmetic grade average good
- Advanced mathematics grade good
- Mathematics and natural sciences grade average good
There are no exact grades, scores, or a percentile to be met since every application is evaluated individually. In general, we wish to see good English language skills, and above average grades in advanced mathematics and science (physics or chemistry)

The applicant needs to provide a copy of their upper secondary mathematics curriculum when applying (see more instructions at Bachelor's Rolling Admission – Required documents).
The following topics must be included in the applicant's upper secondary mathematics curriculum. The applicant must have studied these areas of advanced mathematics during their upper secondary studies, and they must have obtained the necessary skills required for LUT University's Bachelor's studies.
Although each applicant and their certificates are evaluated individually, the degree programme reserves the right to reject the application if there are notable deficiencies in the applicant's advanced mathematics skills.
