A: 

Founded in 1991, EURECOM is a Graduate School and Research Centre in Digital Science located in the Sophia Antipolis technology park and is recognised as the second best institution in France by subject Telecommunication Engineering. It is home to 300+ international students, which contributes close to 70% in their total student population.

Q:   What is EURECOM's acceptance rate?

A: 

EURECOM's acceptance rate is nearly 28% and this figure indicates that on an average, only 28 out of every 100 applicants manage to secure admission in the institution. Hence, this makes EURECOM a very competitive university to get in. Students must not show any laxity and must fulfill all the admission, documents and English proficiency language requirements.

Q:   Is EURECOM accredited?

A: 

Yes, some EURECOM courses are accredited by recognised bodies:

  • EURECOM’s Master degrees are internationally recognised as they are nationally accredited by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research and can give access to further PhD Studies. Also, these degrees are 3IA certified. The Master in Digital Security has been granted the SecNumedu certification by the National Cybersecurity Agency of France (ANSSI).
  • EURECOM’s Post Master’s degrees are fully recognised by the French State as they are accredited by the CTI. Both the degrees have been granted the European quality Label: EURACE, which guarantee a high level of academic content and relevance to market needs. The Post Master in Security in Computer Systems and Communications has been granted the SecNumedu
    certification by the National Cybersecurity Agency of France (ANSSI).

Q:   Do Indian students require a visa to study in EURECOM?

A: 

In order to study at EURECOM, all Indian students require a visa before moving in for their studies. They must proceed with the CEF
procedure to obtain a visa. The steps to apply are listed below:

  • Create an online account;
  • Choose the option “I’m already enrolled”
  • Choose EURECOM in the list of schools and the corresponding degree; and then
  • You will have an interview with a Campus France‘s officer

Q:   What is a Carnot Excellence Scholarships at EURECOM?

A: 

Carnot Excellence Scholarships are offered to all students including international at EURECOM, applying to one of the EURECOM’s four Master of Science programs (Internet of Things, Data Science and Engineering, Internet of Things, Intelligent Communication Systems). The selection of the candidates for the granting of the scholarship is based solely on the evaluation of the academic records of the candidates, their motivation, and their recognition of the university. The application for this scholarship is done via the same online form than the applicant’s application to a master’s program.

Q:   Does EURECOM offer scholarships to international students?

A: 

EURECOM offers a few scholarships for native as well as overseas students, in order to help the outstanding and highly motivated students by reducing a significant portion of their tuition fee. There are two major scholarships offered by EURECOM, namely;

Carnot TSN Excellence Scholarship Program:

Exclusively available to students pursuing any master's degree

Awards: Up to 15 EXCELLENCE scholarships of 5,000 euros

6G Excellence Scholarship Program:

Exclusively available to students pursuing Master of Science in Intelligent Communication Systems

Awards: Up to two 6G Excellence scholarships with a monetary value of 5,000 euros

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for scholarships at EURECOM?

A: 

EURECOM has a three-point eligibility criteria for both the scholarships offered to the students.

Carnot TSN Excellence Scholarship Program:

1) Candidate must be holding a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Computer science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Engineering, etc.) from a recognised top university :

  • must appear in one of the international ranking list: THE,  QS,  ARWU
  • or in Top 50 Chinese Universities according to ARWU, Top 50 Indian engineering colleges or universities  (NIRF India)
  • Depending on the case, top universities of the country appearing in THE, QS, ARWU, CS Ranking, Scimago by subject : Computer Science and ICT;  or Location:  Asia or Latin America ranking or in QS BRICS, Asia, Latin America, Arab Region or EECA (Emerging Europe and Central Asia) ranking

2) Candidates must hold a minimum overall GPA score of 3.5/4 or belong to the top 10% of their graduating class

3) Be research-driven: Candidates must be able to demonstrate their appetite to undertake a PhD after the Master (a short letter explaining the motivation for research and possible topic will be required)

Note: The selection of candidates and the granting of the scholarship is done based solely on the evaluation of the academic records of the candidates, their motivation and the recognition of their university.

6G Excellence Scholarship Program:

1) Candidates must be holding a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Computer science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Engineering, etc.) from a recognised top university:

  • must appear in one of the international ranking list: THE,  QS,  ARWU
  • or in Top 50 Chinese Universities according to ARWU , Top 50 Indian engineering colleges or universities  (NIRF India)
  • Depending on the case, top universities of the country appearing in THE, QS, ARWU, CS Ranking, Scimago by subject : Computer Science and ICT;  or Location:  Asia or Latin America ranking or in QS BRICS, Asia, Latin America, Arab Region or EECA (Emerging Europe and Central Asia) ranking

2) Candidates must hold a minimum overall GPA score of 3.5/4 (Or CGPA of 7/10) or belong to the top 10% of their graduating class

3) Candidates must demonstrate a proven interest in future intelligent networks (6G) and some of the fields of specialization: Wireless Communications, Mobile Computing, Networking, Mobile Applications and Services, communication theory, Signal Processing and learning for networks (a short letter of explanation will be required) Also, knowledge and willingness to work within the OpenAirInterface Alliance are very strong assets

Q:   Which documents do I need while applying to EURECOM?

A: 

When applying to EURECOM, all international students must be prepared with the following set of documents:

  • Statement of purpose / motivation letter (2 pages maximum)
  • Two letters of recommendation, at least one letter should be written by a professor who is well acquainted with the academic work
  • CV
  • Copy of ID/passport
  • Certified copies of transcripts and certificates
  • English Language proficiency test scores
  • Financial Statement: Applicants are expected to provide a letter written (A4 Word Format) and signed by themselves or by relatives (parents) describing how they intend to pay the tuition fees and the living costs in France: personal saving, parents’ financial support, scholarship, loan
  • For the 18 month program, applicants are required to submit additional documents:
    • A specific Letter of Recommendation
    • A specific Statement of Purpose

 

Q:   How can I apply to EURECOM?

A: 

In order to apply to EURECOM correctly, all interested candidates must follow the detailed application process listed below:

STEP 1: ONLINE REGISTRATION

  • Create an online account on the online application form
  • Choose the targeted degree
  • Upload the necessary application documents mentioned on the last page of this
    document
  • The scanned copies of the documents should be up to 500 KB each (we strongly advise the use
    of PDF documents).
  • It is not necessary to send hard documents by post.

STEP 2: SELECTION AND ADMISSION

  • Candidates will be informed via their personal online dashboard about the status of their
    application and the date of result publication.
  • The Admission Committee is made of professors involved in the program. The following criteria
    are assessed: reputation of the home university, student's academic performance and ranking,
    relevance of the course content of the previous degree, letters of recommendation from referees).
  • Candidates are informed by email of the Admission Committee’s decision.
  • Admitted candidates receive an email with a pre-admission letter and a pre-admission document
    to be signed and sent back to EURECOM Admission Office

STEP 3: CONFIRMATION

  • Admitted students have to confirm their admission by paying a 1000€ deposit. The deposit will be
    deducted from the overall tuition fees.
  • Please note that a 10% discount on the overall tuition fee is offered to the applicant that pay
    the deposit in the 30 days following the reception of the pre admission letter.
  • Admitted Students are required to send the all the documents required.

STEP 4. FINAL REGISTRATION

  • The registration is confirmed upon receipt of the deposit and documents.
  • A final registration letter is sent to the applicant. The admitted student will be provided with an
    access to an online accommodation platform and useful information about daily life in France.

Q:   What are the admission requirements for EURECOM MS in Data Science program?

A: 

For EURECOM admissions, the entry requirements for the MS in Data Science programme are:

  • A bachelor’s degree (minimum 3 years of higher education) in a relevant field including undergraduate degrees in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering and Physics;
  • Strong foundations in Mathematics, Calculus, Linear Algebra and Programming
  • A certified B2 level in English

English test scores required for pursuing a Master’s degree at EURECOM are:

  • IELTS: 5.5
  • TOEFL: 564
  • TOEFL iBT: 80

All applicants must fulfill the entry requirements to get admitted for these courses. These requirements are:

For 24 months (4 semester) courses:

For 18 months (3 semester) courses:
