MBBS in Germany for Indian Students: Fees
Germany is home to top public universities that are largely state-funded and do not require students to pay tuition fees but only an administration fee as part of the admission process. Therefore, MBBS in Germany for Indian students fees is Nil at most of the universities. However, MBBS fees in Germany at some universities are around INR 25 L for first-year. Currently, MBBS courses are only available across public universities in Germany. Hence, international students would require an understanding of the German language to apply to the university.
Cost of Living in Germany: Candidates looking to live in Germany are required to open a mandatory Blocked Account. The Blocked Account has the required living expenses for a student. This amount is decided by the government in Germany. As of January 1, 2021, keeping the rate of inflation in mind, the mandatory amount required in the Block Account for studying in Germany is €10,332 for an entire year or €861 for a month.
Germany Study Visa
Candidates going to study in Germany would require a German Student Visa for their entire duration of stay. The student visa would also allow students access to part-time work for 20 hours a week for the entire duration of the study or 120 full or 240 half days per year Candidates should note that on completion of their study, they would be allowed an eighteen-month (18 months) post-study period to find employment in their field of study. Students will have to pay around €110 as a visa application fee. Generally, the processing time for a Residence Permit visa is 3 months (8 to 12 weeks).
MBBS in Germany Requirements

- The student must have completed his 10+2 from a recognized board.
- The student must have an aggregate percentage of at least 50% or above in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and must have studied English as a compulsory subject during his 10+2 years.
- Students are also required to qualify for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET). This is mandatory even if the student is planning to pursue his medical studies abroad.
- The candidate would also be required to produce an Eligibility Certificate issued by the Medical Council of India at the time of admission to Foreign Medical Universities.
- Candidates would also need to have a working knowledge of German Languages for admission to private universities or English Language scores for admission to private colleges.
