Eligibility Requirements to Study MBBS Abroad for Indian Students

While each country could have its own set of rules and eligibility criteria for MBBS abroad, today we are going to talk about the general eligibility guidelines for Indian students wanting to pursue MBBS among the top countries overseas.








  • The student is required to have attained the age of 17 on December 31 of the year he is pursuing his admission. There is no upper age limit to apply for MBBS abroad.
  • The student must have completed his 10+2 from a recognized board.
  • The student must have an aggregate percentage of at least 50% or above in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and must have studied English as a compulsory subject during his 10+2 years.
  • The candidate would also be required to submit a medical certificate at the time of admission stating that the applicant is not suffering from any contagious diseases.
  • Students are also required to qualify the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET). This is mandatory even if the student is planning to pursue his medical studies abroad. Candidates should remember that the upper limit for appearing for the NEET is 25 years for General candidates and 30 years for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

Once the applicant has satisfied the eligibility requirements for studying MBBS abroad, he can move on to the next step which is the application process to study MBBS abroad. Candidates can check out the steps below for the detailed admission procedure to universities abroad:







  • Step 1: Select your preferred MBBS University abroad and check its eligibility guidelines.
  • Step 2: A lot of times, countries could require applicants to appear for an eligibility test to be eligible to study in their country. Candidates could also be required to appear for an English proficiency test to be eligible to apply. Applicants are required to get done with all the tests and move on to the next level.
  • Step 3: Fill out the online application form of the university with all your accurate details and avoid any errors or deception while providing your particulars.

A. The eligibility criteria for MBBS abroad is inclusive of the age factors which requires the candidate to be 17 years or older at the time of admissions. hey i would just like to know that if im going to LA USA for pursing MD do i have to give neet as i already know that i need to do a bachelors degree and then give mcat and then i can get into a med school. is it necessary to give neet for this?
