About University of Putra Malaysia
The University of Putra Malaysia was established in 1931 as a public research University. The university provides state-of-the-art education in 150+ programs at various levels of study. University Putra Malaysia History
In 1931, John Scott founded the School of Agriculture. It was then known as the College of Agriculture Malaya. From 1971 to 1997, it was called Universiti Pertanian Malaysia. In 1997, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad, the Prime Minister, changed the name to Universiti Putra Malaysia. Universiti Putra Malaysia has the Institute of Bioscience, Institute of Advanced Technology, Institute for Mathematical Research, Halal Product Research Institute, Institute of Gerontology, Institute of Agricultural and Food Policy Studies, Institute for Social Science Studies and the Institute of Tropical Agriculture.
