Engineering in Netherlands Student Visa
If you plan on pursuing a course which is more than 90 days in duration, you will need a Residence Permit. According to the IND (Dutch Immigration and Naturalization Service), for students who plan to stay for more than 90 days in Netherlands, the university/ institute is their ‘Recognized Sponsor’. Under the TEV (Entry and Residence Permit) Procedure, the recognized sponsor will apply the visa for the student. The visa process for the Netherlands has two steps:
- MVV: It is the entry visa, also called as the Provisional Residence Permit. A student can apply for MVV at the VFS Netherlands Visa Application Centers in New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Jalandhar, and Ahmedabad. Alternatively, a student can also apply for a MVV through his/her host university. The university will have its own application fee which can range anywhere between €250 to €350
- VRV: It is the residence permit that is given to the students when they land. Student’s university will apply for a Residence Permit on his/her behalf. Once a student has received his/her permit, he/she will have to register at the local council.
A student has to provide financial documents that prove that he/she can support himself/herself during the course. The amount that a student needs to prove is €10,000 per annum (€835 per month)
