- A Master's program applicant should have a (minimum) 4 year Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or its affiliated college. Accreditation should be by NAAC, AICTE, or the institute should be on the list of Institutes of National Importance. In case of accreditation by AICTE student should include a statement in the application documents from the university confirming the AICTE accreditation
- A CGPA of at least 8.5 on a 1-10 scale. If your university does not award a CGPA your average mark should be 75%

In order to be admitted to the Master program Industrial Design, applicants will need skills and knowledge in:
- Social Sciences (e.g. user research, psychology, consumer behavior)
- Design (e.g. design research process, aesthetics, ideation)
- Engineering (e.g. mathematics e.g. data science, programming, electronics)
- Business and marketing (e.g. entrepreneurship, value proposition)
The number of expertise areas in which the student has expertise are not applied strictly as requirement (however, the more areas the student has covered, the better the match)
- Students should have sufficient academic knowledge, design, professional skills and research skills in the area of industrial design and can apply knowledge and use design methods to solve technological and societal questions in the master program. These disciplines include the following Expertise Areas: Creativity and Aesthetics, Technology and Realization, User and Society, Business and Entrepreneurship, Math, Data and Computing, to apply them in Design Research Processes
