Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand is offering multiple scholarship options for international applicants of doctoral and master's programs.

Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand offers scholarships to international students

International applicants of Master's and Doctoral degree programs at the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand have an opportunity to secure generous academic scholarships. Students applying for AIT’s School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD); School of Engineering and Technology (SET); and School of Management (SOM) have the options of many no-bond AIT Scholarships.

With these scholarships, AIT is aiming to increase the number of skilled managers, engineers and international scientists who will equip the country to meet upcoming challenges of the emerging Asian Economic Community region and beyond.

The living cost is around 11,500‐15,000 Baht per month and the registration fee is 20,000 Baht per semester to maintain student status. The scholarship can either be partial or full.

Following are the thematic areas of research at AIT including Smart Communities, Climate Change, Infrastructure, Food-Energy-Water, and Infrastructure.

Eligibility Criteria

The following are the eligibility conditions:

  • Candidates of any nationality can apply for the scholarship.
  • They must meet AIT’s English Proficiency Requirement including IELTS-Academic or AIT EET score of 5.0 or more and for Master's and Doctoral program, it should be 5.5.
  • The candidate must have a four-year Bachelor's degree from a recognized university
  • For PhD applicants, a master's degree from a recognized university is a must and 2.75 in their undergraduate program

AIT inks MoU with Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand

Recently, the institute has inked an agreement with the Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering at Colorado State University (CSU) and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) for a partnership in installing the Edge Seal Module (ESM) on a floating platform at Sirindhorn Dam.








Prof. Nitin Tripathi, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs at AIT; Mr. Thidade Eiamsai, Deputy Governor for Power Plant Development and Renewable Energy at EGAT; and Prof. Kenneth F. Reardon, Associate Dean for Research at the Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering, CSU signed the agreement.







ESM establishment is a significant development in the solar technology sector as it will increase durability and can adapt to different climates. It shows great possibilities for increasing the robustness and efficiency of solar power generation.
