Applications for Deakin University's Vice-Chancellor's Meritorious Scholarship Programme 2024 are open now. Applicants are recommended that scholarship applications must be submitted at least one month prior to commencing their studies at Deakin University.

Australia's Deakin University Announces Vice-Chancellor's Meritorious Scholarship Programme 2024 for Indian students

Study in Australia: Deakin University is offering Vice-Chancellor’s Meritorious Scholarship Program (VSMSP) 2024 to Indian students. The scholarships are available for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. There are a total of 10 full-fee scholarships, each valued at over Rs 6 million.

The scholarships are part of the 'Changing Lives' initiative. “Every year, the programme rewards Indian students with consistently high academic performance and the potential to make a lasting impact globally with the opportunity to study in Australia at Deakin University,” the university said in an official release, as reported by NDTV.

"Scholarships are available in the fields of STEM, creative arts, sports studies and general studies. Successful students will be required to participate in the Vice-Chancellor’s Professional Excellence Program," said the unversity statement.








Eligibility Criteria

For undergraduate courses, the eligibility requirements are:

  • 85% and above in Year 12 scores from CBSE / ICSE / State Board
  • Students must be residing in India
  • English language proficiency as per requirements for the course/area of study at Deakin University
  • Significant achievements in co-curricular activities

For postgraduate programs, the requirements are:

  • Students living in India
  • 80% and above in an undergraduate degree
  • 85% and above in Year 12 scores from CBSE / ICSE / State Board
  • English language proficiency as per requirements for the course/area of study at Deakin University
  • Significant achievements in co-curricular activities

Documents Needed for Vice-Chancellor’s Meritorious Scholarship Program 2024

The candidates also need to provide essential documents with the completely filled application forms, these are:







Two references who can comment on student's community engagement and/or leadership capacity

A personal statement of 300 words written by the student. It should include an overview of any extracurricular activities and work experience (paid or voluntary) they have undertaken, an outline of why they want to study at Deakin University, why would the student make an outstanding ambassador for Deakin University and any other information that will assist in the application.

Deakin Scholarship for Excellence

This one is for the citizens of Australia, New Zealand and Australian permanent residents. Candidates must know that Deakin Scholarship for Excellence applications for Trimester/Semester 2 2024 to close on 10 July 2024 at 5 pm. It offers $5000 per year ($625 per credit point) paid as cash or towards student contributions (tuition fees) for undergraduate courses and $10,000 per year ($1250 per credit point) paid as cash or towards student contributions (tuition fees) for postgraduate courses.
