BITS Pilani Dubai Campus Establishes Ankitt Gaur Centre of Excellence in Blockchain & AI Research

Study abroad: The ground-breaking initiative by the BITS Pilani Dubai Campus is the Work Integrated Learning Programme (WILP) alumnus’ first endowment.

After signing a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), BITS Pilani Dubai Campus (BPDC) has established the Ankitt Gaur Centre of Excellence in Blockchain & AI Research. This is a groundbreaking initiative of the university and represents the first endowment of the Work Integrated Learning Programme (WILP) alumnus, Ankitt Gaur who is a distinguished alumnus (2007-2009 Batch) of BPDC and the Founder & CEO of OrbitXPay.

Prof V Ramgopal Rao, Vice Chancellor, Bits Pilani commented, “This initiative stands as a testament to the enduring impact of our alumni and their commitment to giving back to the institution that helped shape their journeys. Ankitt Gaur's visionary support will significantly advance research and innovation in emerging technologies such as Blockchain, AI, and Web3. His generosity not only fuels technological advancements but also empowers students and researchers to become global leaders in these transformative fields.”

Ankitt Gaur Centre of Excellence in Blockchain & AI Research Details

It aims to be the leading hub for innovation, research, and incubation in Blockchain, Web3 technologies, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). It also wants to foster an ecosystem of entrepreneurship, innovation and start-ups and seeks to bridge the industry and academia gap.

It will also serve as a platform for researchers and students to drive global leadership in next-generation technologies and to collaborate on cutting-edge projects.

“As part of his philanthropic endeavours, Ankitt Gaur has also instituted the Nirmala Devi Scholarship for Girls at the Hyderabad Campus in honour of his mother. This 100% scholarship supports deserving female students, reinforcing his commitment to advancing higher education for women in India. Ankitt has pledged to expand his efforts to empower underserved communities through education and technology,” added the university statement.
