Deakin University Named 2025 'Fast Mover' Universities In World
Study in Australia: Deakin University has been listed among the 15 'Fast Mover' universities in the world for growth in quality and quantity of research by over 5% as compared to last year.
The Australian's 2025 Research Magazine has named Deakin University as one of the world's 'Fast Mover' institutions. The university has been listed among the 15 'Fast Mover' universities which produced better quality and quantity in research. For Deakin University, it was up by 5% as against last year's research quality and quantity.
For Academic and Psychological Testing and Higher Education, the magazine has placed Deakin University among the leading research institutions in the world.
Deakin Vice-Chancellor, Professor Iain Martin says, "A key achievement of Deakin has been the university's work to boost the benefit of its research to industry and the community on top of traditional academic measures of success, such as number of publications and citations. There's a lot of discovery-based work going on in the lab. But at the same time there's an awful lot of industry-facing activity."
Deakin University Is Leading Research In 13 Categories
Australia's 2025 Research Magazine has named the university as the leading research institute in 13 categories across Health and Medical Sciences, Humanities, Literature and Arts, and Engineering and Computer Science. The 13 categories in which the university is leading research include - Textile Engineering, Wood Science and Technology, Evolutionary Computation, Religion, Film, Academic and Psychological Testing, Child and Adolescent Psychology, Human Migration, Military Studies, Nutrition Science, Academic and Psychological Testing, Diplomacy and International Relations, Military Studies, and Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies.
Deakin University Celebrates Historic 50-Year Milestone
To mark the 50th anniversary, Deakin University will start a rolling program in Geelong on November 29, 2024, with a free Community Festival.
Deakin Vice-Chancellor Professor Iain Martin said, "We warmly invite members of our community together with students, staff, alumni, their family and friends."
"Deakin owes much of its great success as an internationally recognised University to the people of Geelong who campaigned over many years to bring to life the idea of a fourth university for Victoria and the first regional university in the state," Professor Martin said.
