Louisiana State University Offers Entering Freshman Scholarships
The applicants will be evaluated based on family background, letters of recommendation from an academic source, achievements in and out of the classroom, academic transcripts, and standardized test scores.
Study in US: Louisiana State University is offering Entering Freshman Scholarships based on many factors. The priority deadline for all scholarships is December 15, 2024.
There will be several factors involved in selecting a candidate for Entering Freshman Scholarships, these are - letters of recommendation from an academic source, family background, academic transcripts, achievements in and out of the classroom, and standardized test scores. Those students who will be selected for the scholarship will be informed through email at their mailing address. After receiving the email confirmation, the students can view, accept or decline the scholarship.
These scholarships are open to transfer students, incoming freshmen, out-of-state residents and Louisiana residents. The university has historically adjusted and increased the scholarship dollar amounts year over year.

These awards range in value from $500 per year to a full ride and these include Study Abroad Scholarships, Merit-Based Scholarships, Need-Based Awards, Research Scholarships, Legacy Scholarships, Federal Grants, Work Study Awards, Federal Loans, and Major-Specific Scholarships.
The university said that it is one of only a few universities in the US to award the prestigious Stamps Scholarships.
There are also the following awards available:
- Manship Scholars - It is funded by the Manship family members, and it offers exceptional students with funds to cover tuition fees, most fees and some expenses. To get this scholarship, students must have an ACT composite score of at least 26 and have a superior scholastic record.
- Overton Scholarship - It is for students majoring in print journalism and is for a duration of four years.
- Freeport-McMoran Minority Scholarships - This is for those who are recognized as members of a minority group by the federal guidelines.
- Katheryn Pate Callahan Scholarship - The recipient must have an interest in print journalism.
- Albert and Virginia Bunch Memorial Scholarship - It is open to those who plan a major in mass communication.
- Luke S. Bashore Scholarship - It is for students who are interested in broadcast journalism or digital media communication and it is for four years.
