New Australian university to be launched for Indian students

Study in Australia: Adelaide University of Australia will be officially launched in India on 22 August 2024. The event will be held in New Delhi.

Adelaide University co-Vice Chancellors, Professor Peter Høj AC and Professor David Lloyd said, “Adelaide University stands for progress and will be a place for educational excellence and equity. It will produce next-generation graduates, and future-making research of scale and focus that addresses complex global challenges. Our graduates will respond to the workforce needs of India and Australia, shaped by global industry and research connections; rich work-integrated learning embedded in every program; and education that incorporates the latest in digital technologies.”

Adelaide University in India: Details

The new institute will be built on the legacies and robust strengths of its founding universities the University of South Australia and the University of Adelaide. The admission will start in 2026. The institute aims to provide a transformative learning experience to Indian students.  

The institute will offer a wide range of postgraduate and undergraduate programs in various in-demand disciplines. The new university will draw on the global industry partnerships and extensive expertise of its founding institutions.








The Indian students will get access to the vibrant lifestyle of Adelaide University and will join more than 400,000 alumni from the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia.

The institute will adopt a modern and innovative approach to offer the most contemporary, accessible and future-focused curriculum through stackable and modular learning. It will be flexible learning with various entry and attainment points.







The university is a member of Australia’s prestigious Group of Eight (Go8), and will prepare the students to excel in the workplaces of today and tomorrow.

Adelaide University is planning to have strategic partnership with hundreds of co-authored research publications and over 25 Indian higher education institutions. The publications will be from various areas including engineering, computer science, medicine and health, agriculture and more.

The Australian education system is known for providing top-quality and contemporary education, according to the official statement of the university.
