Yale School Of The Environment Celebrates 125 Years Of Leadership, Innovation, and Impact

Currently, the Yale School of the Environment community is working on climate solutions and looking for opportunities and challenges. The school has been educating the environmental leaders since 1900.

Yale School Of The Environment Celebrates 125 Years Of Leadership, Innovation, And Impact

Study in US: Yale School of the Environment is celebrating its 125 years of existence. It was founded in 1900 and till now more than 5,800 graduates of the school have served the leadership positions in the sector.

Indy Burke, the Carl Knobloch, Jr. Dean commented, “From our founding in 1900 as The Yale Forest School to our present as the Yale School of the Environment, our strength is rooted in our interdisciplinary approach to developing solutions to meet some of society’s greatest global challenges and educating the next generation of environmental leaders. We are looking forward to celebrating 125 years of ‘leadership, innovation, and impact’ throughout the year, as well as looking at the many opportunities and challenges ahead.”

Mark Ashton '85 MF, '90 PhD, senior associate dean of The Forest School and the Morris K. Jesup Professor of Silviculture and Forest Ecology said, “The school literally founded and created the modern-day practice of forestry in the U.S., and, with it, the foundational knowledge for its practice over the centuries."








The school is planning to highlight the theme of the 125th anniversary with a social media campaign. It will feature students and alumni. The theme of the anniversary is Impact, Leadership, and Innovation.







Yale Offers New Course In Korean Language

After the increasing interest of students in the Korean language and culture, Yale University is offering a new course and faculties that specialize in Korean culture and language. The course name is “North Korea and Religion”. Hwansoo Kim, a professor of religious studies at Yale’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) is the course instructor.

Aaron Gerow, who chairs the East Asian Languages and Literatures department and is the Alfred W. Griswold Professor of East Asian Languages and Literatures and of Film and Media Studies said, “What has been wonderful about the growth of Korean studies at Yale is that it has enjoyed broad support, going beyond any single department, with individual programs hiring new faculty on their own initiative. We haven’t had to fight and scratch to make gains but have enjoyed strong backing from the administration and faculty across the university.”
