The VC Excellence Scholarships for Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses at Newcastle University is offering 30% to 50% tuition fees reduction for undergraduate courses. The last date to apply for the scholarship is February 27, 2025.

Study in UK: Newcastle University has announced the VC Excellence Scholarships for Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses. The aim is to support academically sound international students across various disciplines. The undergraduate scholarship offers a reduction of 30% to 50% in tuition fees.

For postgraduate scholarship, it offers 50% to 100% reduction in tuition fees. There are a total of 30 scholarships for postgraduate courses available to outstanding international students.

“India’s emerging pool of highly motivated students seeking specialized knowledge and global exposure aligns with the university’s vision of empowering diverse, international perspectives to tackle modern challenges. Recognizing this, Newcastle University offers scholarships to alleviate financial burdens and encourage academic excellence in a supportive, innovative environment,” reads the official statement.

Newcastle University’s VC Excellence Scholarships: Eligibility Criteria

The following are the eligibility criteria for undergraduate scholarship:

  • The applicants must have an offer from Newcastle University for an eligible undergraduate degree program for 2025/26 academic year.
  • They must be assessed as foreign students for fee purposes.
  • A minimum of ABB at A level or equivalent

The following are the eligibility criteria for postgraduate scholarship:

  • Have an offer of an eligible Master's degree programme at the University’s Newcastle for 2025/26 academic year
  • Upper second-class UK honours degree or equivalent.
  • They must be an international student.

“Eligible candidates will be assessed according to evidence of academic ability, evidence of commitment to studies and quality of application,” says the official statement.








Newcastle University Announces New Unit For Gastrointestinal Study

Newcastle University gets a new unit for gastrointestinal. The experts of the university will co-lead this new state-of-the-art health unit.

Professor Paul Hunter, director designate of the new unit said, “Gastrointestinal infections cause an estimated 17 million cases in the UK each year. Most commonly they cause diarrhoea and vomiting but can be much more serious and can even be life threatening. The estimated cost to the British economy of food-borne gastrointestinal infections is estimated at about £9 billion pounds annually. Our research will help protect people against these infections and so improve public health and the British economy.”







Prof Martin Warren, Interim Director of QIB, said, “In line with QIB’s mission to deliver healthier lives through innovation in gut health, microbiology and food, we are delighted to be part of this NIHR grant, which will drive innovative research to combat gut infections. Through strengthened diagnostics, outbreak detection, prevention strategies, and pandemic preparedness, this project demonstrates how the research happening across the Norwich Research Park aims to protect public health and foster future leaders in health protection.”
