Northeastern University Career Fair 2024 Connects 42 Employers With Students
The university in the US organised a career fair where it welcomed 42 employers including big names in healthcare and STEM.
Study in US: The Northeastern University’s Cabot Physical Education Center welcomed 42 employers to connect them with 1,200 undergraduate and graduate students. These companies also included big names in healthcare and STEM.
The companies included all multinational, big, small, private, public and Boston-based firms setting tables to participate in the career fair and hire students.
Tyler Hines, representing the valve train technologies division at Cummins Inc. said, “We’ve built up our program over the past couple of years from a single intern to 10 internships and six co-ops. We hope to get some good candidates from it and come back for more.” Cummins Inc. is a Connecticut-based company.
“Allowing students to connect directly with employers, #Northeastern welcomed 42 employers — including big names in health care and STEM — to campus this past week,” reads a message from Northeastern University on the X platform.
Students were excited to participate in Northeastern University Career Fair
While the companies which were looking to hire for various full-time positions got an opportunity to interact with students face to face. The students were also excited about the fair.
Anya Dasgupta, a second-year student in computer science said, “Being able to see the types of companies who are looking to hire and make a human contact is a lot more helpful than looking at a website.”
Max Deppisch, a second-year physics student, added, “My application is all words, but I feel like I can make myself a better candidate by talking to people.”
Shayna Zibel, a fellow physics major and second-year student said, “It puts a face to the application.”
Northeastern University Career Fair Is An Annual Event
Every year the university connects thousands of students with around 5,000 industry partners from 150 countries. Dana Flood from Mulhern & Kulp, a structural engineering company said, “We have had great success with it and have seen the advantages of it.”
Max Wilderman of pharmaceutical giant Bristol Myers Squibb was hiring for spring and fall full-time and co-op positions. “Their leadership is very important,” said Max Wilderman.
