University Of Wollongong India To Offer Finance and FinTech, Computing Science and Information Systems Courses

Study Abroad: The University of Wollongong India has entered into a partnership with the Afthonia Labs to offer courses on Computing Science and Information Systems Finance and FinTech and also to provide practical experiences in FinTech to students.

University of Wollongong (UOW) India Campus has collaborated with a Bengaluru-based incubator for early-stage FinTech startups - Afthonia Labs. Under the collaboration, the University of Wollongong India will offer courses on Computing Science and Information Systems and Finance and FinTech.

Tanul Mishra, CEO, of Afthonia Labs and Nimay Kalyani, Campus Director of UOW India have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the UOW India campus. The aim is to offer hands-on experience to the students as they will get access to Afthonia Labs' expertise. Various industry professionals will provide guest lectures to the students to connect industry with academia. The partnership aims to enhance the University of Wollongong’s role as a leader in FinTech education.

Commenting on the partnership, Nimay Kalyani, Campus Director of UOW India, said, “The collaboration with Afthonia Labs enhances UOW’s master’s program in Financial Technology and is part of our ongoing efforts to provide industry-relevant education in India. FinTech is a promising sector in the country, with opportunities expected to grow exponentially in the coming years. For our students to capitalize on this trend, they must gain firsthand exposure to the workings of the industry. Our industry partners will play a crucial role in equipping our students with the skills and knowledge required to become future leaders in FinTech.”
