Here we will explore the scholarships offered by the Tata Trusts which offers small grants programs, grants for endowments and individual grants for medical and educational relief. The Tata Trusts work to support a variety of causes across India.

Following are the scholarships offered by the Tata Trusts for Indian students:

Tata Scholarship for Indian Students at Cornell University

This scholarship is given to 20 Indian scholars annually who are exceptional students. The idea is that they should not miss out on the opportunity to study at a prestigious university like Cornell University due to financial constraints. It is only for undergraduate courses at Cornell University. It covers the tuition fees and other expenses and is funded and supported by the Tata Education and Development Trust with an endowment of $25. To be considered for this scholarship, the applicant should be an Indian student who has received an offer of admission from this US university for an undergraduate program and should be eligible for need-based financial support.








JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship

JN Tata Endowment has awarded loan scholarships to over 5700 Indian students till now in its 131-year-old history. It is only to support higher studies internationally such as post-doctoral fellowships, Master's, and PhD across all streams. To apply for this scholarship, the candidates should be not older than 45 years on June 30, 2024. They must have completed graduation with a minimum of 60% marks and should be admitted to a Graduate Program. The candidates who are waiting for their admission offers can also apply but they must provide the proofs once they get the offers. Recently, the JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship loan amounts have ranged between INR 1 lakh to INR 10 lakhs.







Civil Aviation and Professional Enhancement Grants

It is provided to students who are pursuing a Commercial Pilot's License or type rating from abroad or in India. However, the grant depends on their interview performance. It is for working professionals who want to improve their skills through workshops, training or observership programs abroad.

Lady Meherbai D Tata Education Trust Scholarship

It is offered to Indian women graduates from recognized and reputed universities. This is applicable to women pursuing Master's programs from abroad in the field of child welfare, social work, and education for children with special needs. Ladt Meherbai D Tata Education Trust Scholarship is granted to up to 10 women annually. To be considered for this, the women should have a consistent academic record, and they should have a minimum of two years of relevant work experience. They must have offers from reputed universities in the UK, US or Europe for sessions to be started in the 2024-25 academic year. The scholarship value is between INR 3 lakhs to INR 6 lakhs toward tuition fees. The selected candidates need to attend an interview with the Trust's representatives before getting the scholarship.
