Study Abroad: Application Deadline For 2025 Commonwealth Master Scholarship In UK Extended
Applicants who have completed their undergraduate degree with first division and plan to start their studies in the UK from September 2025 or October 2025, can apply for the 2025 Commonwealth Master Scholarship in the UK.
Study in UK: Those who secured first division in their undergraduate studies and aspire to study in the UK from September 2025 or October 2025 can apply for the Commonwealth Master Scholarship in the UK. The application deadline is November 30, 2024.
The Indian government notice has said that the deadline for the submission of the application has been extended. Interested candidates can submit the application on the SAKSHAT Portal: https://proposal-sakshat.samarth.edu.in.
Eligibility Criteria For 2025 Commonwealth Master Scholarship In UK
The following are the requirements to apply for this scholarship in the UK:
- The applicants should be a citizen or permanent resident of the Commonwealth country. British-protected persons and refugees can also apply.
- To apply, the applicants should be undergraduates with a minimum upper second class (2:1). To pursue a PhD degree, the candidates should have a master's degree.
- The candidates must prove their inability to pay the fees without the scholarship.
Commonwealth Master Scholarship In UK: More Details
The scholarship intends to attract top talent for postgraduate studies in the UK. Under this scholarship, each year nearly 700 students are given the opportunity to pursue postgraduation in the UK.
Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) offers the following types of scholarships - Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships, Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships (for low and middle-income countries), Commonwealth PhD Scholarships (for least-developed countries and fragile states), Commonwealth PhD Scholarships (for high-income countries), Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships, Commonwealth Shared Scholarships, and Commonwealth Professional Fellowships.
There is no restriction on what a student can study under the scholarship however, preference is given to applicants whose studies are relevant to their development criteria which include - access, inclusion and opportunity, strengthening resilience and response to crises, strengthening global peace, security and governance, promoting global prosperity, strengthening health systems and capacity, and science and technology for development.
"Most scholarships are fully funded which means that as well as covering your tuition fees, you will also receive your airfare to and from the UK and a living allowance to support you while you are here," says the official statement.
About how to apply, the British Council India statement says, "Depending on which scholarship you are applying for, you may need to apply through a National Nominating Agency , a university , or a Non-Governmental Organisation."
