The Mundus Journalism Consortium has invited applications for the Erasmus Mundus Master’s in Journalism, Media and Globalisation. The application deadline is January 10, 2025.
The 2025-2027 program is offering an Erasmus+ stipend of up to €6,000 for which students will be selected based on their applications. The exceptional applicants can also get a special scholarship worth €10,000.
"For the 2025-2027 programme, we anticipate that all prospective candidates will qualify for an Erasmus+ stipend of up to €6,000, offering invaluable financial support for your educational journey. Moreover, the Mundus Journalism Consortium extends its support to two exceptional applicants with a special scholarship worth €10,000, further enhancing the opportunities available. Students who receive the Mundus Journalism Consortium scholarship can still apply for and receive an additional Erasmus+ stipend," says the official statement.
Eligibility Requirements For Erasmus Mundus Master’s in Journalism, Media and Globalisation
The following are the eligibility requirements which the candidates need to fulfil:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject: The applicants must have a bachelor's degree and those who are yet to get their bachelor's degree can also apply but they must provide the bachelor's degree documents by August 1, 2025.
- English Languages requirements: For those who are not a native English speaker, they should meet the following requirements - IELTS Academic test (paper based) score of not less than 7 and with a minimum score of 6.0 in each category or TOEFL score with a minimum of 100 scores, or Certificate in Advanced English or Cambridge ESOL exams: Certificate of Proficiency (CPE) with a minimum of 190 points on the Cambridge English-scale.
- Work Experience: The candidates are also required to have a minimum of three months of journalistic experience.

Mundus Journalism Consortium gets around 400 to 500 applications every year, of which they need to choose around 80-90 applicants. Hence, the admission process is highly competitive. The selection criteria are based on the academic background, application reflections, journalism experience, and applicants selected for the Mundus Journalism Consortium scholarships. For the two-year Mundus Journalism master's programme, the tuition fee is going to be low as compared to the other MA programmes in journalism. Moreover, the students need not submit all the amount during admission but the tuition fee gets invoiced in instalments before every semester.
About the scholarship, the official statement said, "The Mundus Journalism Consortium has arranged funding for two applicants for the 2025-2027 programme - the Mundus Journalism Consortium Scholarships. These two best students will be selected by the Mundus Journalism Selection Committee and each will be awarded a Mundus Journalism Consortium scholarship of €10.000. All applicants will be considered for these scholarships, hence, you do not have to indicate within the application package that you want to apply for a scholarship."
