Study Abroad: Apply for PhD in Industrial Research at National University of Singapore
The application deadline for August (Semester 1 Intake) is November 15, and for January (Semester 2 Intake), it is May 15.
The National University of Singapore is currently accepting applications for PhD in Industrial Research. Interested applicants can apply for Semester 1 by November 15, and for Semester 2, they can apply by May 15, 2025. The research opportunity is open for PhD students who are Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents of Singapore and all international students.
"The FoS PhD programmes provide training in a particular subject area through independent investigation, study and experimental work, culminating in the submission of a thesis on the research undertaken. A supervisor or supervisors will be appointed for each candidate. Students are required to attend appropriate lectures and sit for written examinations. PhD students will have the opportunity to partner closely with world-class faculty members on a wide variety of rigorous academic programmes as well as exciting research projects in any of our seven departments," reads the official statement.
PhD in Industrial Research: Eligibility Requirements
The following are the eligibility requirements:
- GPA: Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2nd Class Upper Honours, or its equivalent.
- GRE: Verbal + Quantitative requirement is 320/340, and Analytical score requirement is 3.5 / 6.
- English Proficiency Tests: In internet-based TOEFL, the score should be a minimum of 85 from 120 and in IELTS the minimum requirement is 6.0 out of 9.
- If while pursuing the undergraduate course, the medium of instruction is not English, then there is also a requirement for the GRE and TOEFL scores.
Stipend Details of PhD in Industrial Research
All International Students of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) will get a stipend of SGD 2700/month and the increased amount after passing PhD Qualifying Examination is SGD 500 / month, and SGD 2500 / month increased amount after passing PhD Qualifying Examination is SGD 500 / month for Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH).
NUS Industry-Relevant PhD Scholarship
Applicant can apply for NUS-IRP scholarship with their admissions application through GradApp. Before applying the candidates must browse the User Guide and they should only apply online. All supporting documents must be uploaded in PDF format by the closing date. The applicants need to provide 2 Referee Reports.
