Study Abroad: Indian students can apply online for study visas in Poland
This new rule was implemented on July 2, and is applicable to Indian students under the jurisdiction of the Polish Consulate in Mumbai and under the Polish Embassy. Now, the registration of study visa applications can be carried out via the e-consulate system.
The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Mumbai and Embassy of the Republic of Poland in New Delhi have announced that from July 2, there will be a new study visa application process for Indian students to study in Poland and all the applications can be registered through e-consulate.
Indians residing in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi (NCR), Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, Bhutan, Maldives, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka can apply for study visa application at Embassy of the Republic of Poland in New Delhi.
Indians residing in Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Goa, Gujara, Andhra Pradesh, Daman and Diu can apply for study visa applications at Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Mumbai.
The decision on whether to issue a study visa or not is normally taken within 15 days but if documents are examined in more detail, it can take up to 30 days.
Documents Required
The following are the documents needed during the study visa application process:
- Visa application which is printed and signed
- A photograph which is recent and in dimensions of 35 x 45 mm size
- A valid passport of the applicant
- They need to submit a document confirming partnership or marriage with the EU national
- Document showing that they will join EU nationals in their place of residence or accompany them on the journey.
Poland Visa Types
Before applying for the visa, one should know which visa to apply for, The following are the types of visas available:
- Airport transit Schengen visa (A-Type) for students who plan to pass through an international transit area of a Schengen airport travelling with a passport of one of these states - Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
- Schengen visa (C-Type) - If planning to stay in Poland and Schengen countries for a maximum of 90 days in each 180-day period of time.
- National visa (D-Type) - If planning to stay in Poland for over 90 days.
