Those who are looking to join business schools outside India, particularly in Europe can join the EM Strasbourg Business School in France. The business school is looking for self-motivated candidates and wants to equip the students with skills and knowledge for a promising career ahead. Due to the government's support to the business school, they are able to offer comparatively affordable education to students.
Q: Which are the most popular courses for Indians at the EM Strasbourg Business School in France?
A: So, most Indians want to study courses in English and we do offer courses in English in Finance and Accounting and there is one course on International and European Business.
Q: What is the minimum French language requirement for admission?
A: For the French program, the minimum level requirement is B2 level in French and for English B22 level in English, but in India we are confident with this level.
Q: Are there any scholarships or grants available by the French government to gain admission at your business school?
A: Our business school is slightly different as it is the only business school to be part of the university which is the University of Strasbourg. It means that our fees are controlled by the government and that's why we are a bit affordable if you compare us to other business schools. We do not have our own scholarship, but we do accept scholarships coming from the French government investing in our school such as Eiffel scholarship. Because the government is investing in our schools that's why we are able to keep the fees a bit affordable. It also means that the government is trusting our school and our programs.
Q: How long it takes to process student visas for Indian students? What would you say about the visa process?
A: First I would advise that students should keep all the papers ready before applying because one of the main reasons for the delay in the visa process is that the papers are missing. The visa process can take place between one month to two months.
Q: What is the approximate cost of living to study in France or particularly in your business school?
A: I would speak for my city Strasbourg, if you talk about the cost of living which includes accommodation, food, activities around, going out with friends, and transportation, I would say we are around 900 Euro per month but again students can benefit from help in accommodation from the government. However, it will be explained to students separately.
Q: Is there any existing partnership between your business school and any Indian institutes?
A: It is not long since we have been in India, so we do not have too many and talks are going on, we are working on it.
Q: What kind of student support services are available for Indian students at EM Strasbourg Business School such as career counselling?
A: At our business school there are different departments to support the international students. First, there is the most important visa process, we have a department to verify all the documents and arrange them in order to get the visa, the second part is about internship and finding a job later, so we do have a specific department which helps them to prepare the application and get ready for the interview and get in touch with the companies. Then we have our alumni network which is helpful and it's kind of monitoring the new students and helping them in getting jobs.
Q: What kind of placements you are providing, what is the percentage of the placement?
A: In our school, we never say any number. When the students get admitted to our school, our goal is to know our students best to provide them with the best of opportunities.
Q: How many international students do you get every year?
A: We do not have a maximum number because we really want more international students at our business school. Every year, we have around 200 to 230 international students coming to us.
Q: What kinds of international students you are looking for, who is your ideal candidate?
A: Of course, like any other business school we are looking for students who are motivated to study, but we also understand that we are here to add value to them. There is a possibility that one is a really good student and has yet not provided the right mentoring.
