The last date to apply for the Master of International and Development Economics at the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft (University of Applied Sciences for Engineering and Economics) or HTW Berlin is 31 August 2024 with DAAD scholarship and without DAAD scholarship, the deadline is 30 September 2024.

Study Abroad: Those who are looking to study in Germany should note that Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft (University of Applied Sciences for Engineering and Economics) or HTW Berlin is accepting applications for the Master International and Development Economics 2025.

Students with a first university degree with 180 ECTS (or equivalent) can apply for this program.

"The admissions committee will make the final assessment regarding equivalence for degrees and classes from abroad. We recommend that applicants should have taken at least 3 classes in Economics during undergraduate studies," reads the university's statement.

"We regret that three-year Bachelor’s degrees obtained in Nepal and Bhutan are not regarded as equivalent to a three-year German Bachelor’s degree by our institution. Undergraduate degrees from Mongolia, Myanmar, the Philippines and Somalia are also not considered equivalent to a German university degree," added the university statement.








The applicants who have obtained their education with English as instruction language should submit the official proofs confirming this and those who have completed their studies where English is not the official language need to submit the English language requirements including IELTS grade 7.0, CAE (Certificate in Advanced English) all levels, CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English) all levels, TOEFL (Institutional TOEFL is not accepted): computer-based: 237 points; paper-based: 580 points; internet-based: 96 points, TOEIC 800 points or higher, and BEC Higher (Business English Certificate). These scores should not be older than two years.







How to Apply?

The candidates must follow these steps:

  • They should check and fulfil all the admission requirements.
  • Complete the MIDE application form and upload the required supporting documents.
  • Proof of professional experience and a letter of recommendation are only needed if candidates apply for the DAAD scholarship.
  • The application process does not require academic letters of reference.

Documents Required

The following documents are needed with the application form:

  • An updated and signed CV in Europass format
  • A letter of motivation is needed and it should be dated and signed
  • English language test scores
  • Passport copy
  • Students must submit the Secondary School Leaving Certificate which should mention the graduation date of the student from Secondary School.

Scholarship options are available for those who are from developing countries and have obtained a minimum of two years of professional experience after graduation.
