Study Abroad: Yale University is currently accepting applications for Fall 2025 admission. The last date to apply for the university during Single-Choice Early Action is November 1, 2024.

The Ivy League university continues to be a top destination for study-abroad aspirants. It offers world-class faculty, diverse programs and a vibrant campus life. The selection process is a holistic one where the applications are evaluated irrespective of immigration or citizenship status. All applicants are eligible for the university's need-based financial aid.

There are three ways to apply to Yale University. Applicants can apply through the Common Application, Coalition Application, or The QuestBridge Application. The university gives the same preference to all three applications. For one admission cycle, the applicant must submit only one application.

For Common Application and Coalition Application, the application fee is $80 and for QuestBridge Application, it is free to apply. Also, applicants can request an application fee waiver for the Coalition Application and Common Application if they face financial hardship in paying the application fee.

Admission Requirements for First-Year Applicants

The following are the document requirements for admission to Yale University:

  • Three recommendations, two from two teachers and one from a counsellor
  • $80 application fee or one can request for fee waiver
  • Standardized test results including AP, IB, ACT or SAT
  • School report including transcript
  • Applicant should submit a mid-year report

More Details

For Standardized tests, the applicant should choose to submit from SAT, International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP), and ACT. Those who submit IB or AP scores must also submit results from all subjects. There is no minimum score requirement and there are no marks that guarantee admission, it is only one component of a student's application.

Single-Choice Early Action candidates' admission decisions will be announced online in mid-December. By April 1, the university will post decisions on Regular Decision candidates.

For financial aid, there is no strict deadline by which the candidates need to apply but it is recommended that the candidates should submit the documents by the deadline to ensure that they will get the financial aid during admission.
