The application deadline for the three-year JD program through the LSAC website is February 3, 2025. Robert W. Woodruff Scholars and Fellows Program were established in 1980 to recruit and reward students with leadership qualities, exceptional character, and scholastic abilities.

Emory University in the US is currently accepting applications for the Robert W. Woodruff Scholars and Fellows Program. The last date to send the application is February 3, 2025. As per the university, it is the highest accolade an incoming student can receive.

Woodruff Fellowship covers mandatory fees and tuition fees for the three years of study toward a Juris Doctor. The students who have military benefits or external scholarship funding will get the difference between full cost of tuition and their other benefits plus mandatory fees. Moreover, to assist in defraying the cost of books and living expenses, the fellows get a $5,000 stipend each academic year.

The university looks for the following qualities while selecting the Fellows: impressive skills in communication, outstanding academic achievement, significant creativity and leadership quality in the community or school, qualities of unselfish and forceful character, personal and intellectual vigour, and potential to enrich their lives.








This fellowship is not only about financial support but also means joining a rich community of leaders in the alumni association, the Emory Law community, and the greater society.

"Our fellows are leaders both while they are students and after they graduate and join the profession in courtrooms, businesses, government, public service, and academia. The Woodruff Fellow designation provides lasting recognition of achievement," reads the official statement.







Robert W. Woodruff Scholars and Fellows Program: Application Process

Submit your application for admission through the LSAC website by February 3, 2025.

Have a colleague, professor, employer or another person who knows you well submit a “Letter of Nomination for the Woodruff Fellowship” by the deadline.

A total of 15 finalists will participate in the annual Woodruff Finalist interviews in March 2025, the interview will take place on March 21, and the selected candidates will be invited to attend admitted student Visiting Day the following day, Saturday, March 22.
