Study in US: Harvard Kennedy School To Pause Faculty Hiring
As per sources familiar with the matter, Harvard Kennedy School will pause the recruitment of new faculties for the academic year 2024-25.
As per the report, the Harvard Kennedy School is going to pause the recruitment of new faculties for the academic year 2024-25.
The three individuals who are familiar with the matter have confirmed it, as reported by The Harvard Crimson. One of these people said that the reason behind the pause is strategic as the school wants to prioritize teaching and research and does not want to be diverted from this core responsibility due to the hiring responsibilities.
Daniel B. Harsh, the HKS spokesperson said that the Dean wants to use his first year to communicate to the faculty members about the strategic initiatives and future hiring decisions.
“Dean Weinstein is reaching out to stakeholders across the Kennedy School community, including faculty, staff, students, and alumni to help develop strategy on many issues related to the future of the school,” wrote Harsha.
Weinstein Focuses On Improving Relationships Among Faculty
This decision is being seen as one of the most significant steps in his effort to improve the relationships among HKS faculty. One of the people also said that the pause is not going to affect the searches of faculties.
26 MBA Students Of Harvard Are Recipients Of RISE Fellowship
A total of 26 MBA students of Classes of 2025 and 2026 at the Harvard Business School (HBS) have been named for the Recognizing Individuals Seeking Equity (RISE) Fellowship.
Susan Gilbert, Robert K. Kraft Family Director, MBA Financial Aid said, “This cohort of fellows comes to HBS having made a positive impact in the communities in which they live and work. Embodying the School’s mission to create leaders who make a difference in the world, their contributions to serving those in need make them worthy of the RISE fellowship.”
Alicia Thomas, director of diversity and inclusion, MBA and Doctoral Programs commented, “Our RISE fellows come from diverse backgrounds and have helped underserved communities in a variety of ways. We are excited to see how they continue that work in their time here at HBS.”
