University of Bristol climbs to 11th position in The Times Good University Guide 2025

The University of Bristol has climbed to five places up in the ranking this year and has also scored high in various other categories.

University of Bristol climbs to 11th position in The Times Good University Guide 2025

Study in UK: The University of Bristol is placed at the 11th position in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025. It has climbed to five places as against the previous year's rankings.

In the Education and Russian and Eastern European Language courses category, the university is ranked at the second position and in the German, Dentistry, Aerospace Engineering, and General Engineering courses, it ranked at the third position.

The Guardian University Guide 2025 has listed the university’s Civil Engineering and Education courses as the best in the UK and for Aerospace Engineering, Zoology and Animal Science courses, it was placed at second best in the UK. The university is also home to the country's most powerful supercomputer worth £225m. It has also secured the funding to find out how drones can be used to harvest wind energy.

Professor Michele Acuto, the University’s Pro Vice-Chancellor for Global Engagement, said, “Bristol is a fantastic place to study and work and we are proud to see that recognised in The Times’ latest guide. It’s particularly exciting to see so many Bristol subjects placing near the top of their fields, and it’s a testament to our academics and support staff that they are consistently ranked so highly.”

Times Guide has placed the Mechanical Engineering and French courses of Bristol University at the 5th best in the UK and its Italian courses were at the sixth position in the UK.

University Guide released by Daily Mail said, “Bristol is doing its bit to tear down barriers that have prevented disadvantaged children from attending elite universities.”

Black academics gather at University of Bristol

The event was called Creating the Space, the Voice and the Opportunities to Demonstrate Black Excellence. It featured talks and panel discussions on key issues of black scholars.

“The SBA conference was an enriching experience, providing valuable knowledge, networking opportunities, and professional growth. I made new contacts and look forward to attending future events," said Dr Faatihah Niyi-Odumosu, Associate Professor in Health Promotion at the University of the West of the England.
