Study in US: University of Dayton has been once again recognized for its commitment to green building and sustainable practices.

University of Dayton: Roger Glass Center For The Arts Earns U.S. Green Building Council Award

The U.S. Green Building Council Ohio has awarded the Roger Glass Center for the Arts at the University of Dayton a 2024 Local Market Leadership Award for its commitment to sustainable practices and green building.

Rick Krysiak, University of Dayton vice president for facilities management and planning said "By addressing quality of life, decarbonization and ecological conservation, the Roger Glass Center for the Arts exemplifies how sustainable practices can be integrated into community-enhancing projects. With local materials, energy-efficient designs and a focus on pedestrian access, the project sets a new standard for green building in the Dayton area."

About Roger Glass Center For The Arts

The centre holds a LEED Gold rating and includes a 244-seat experimental theatre, 386-seat concert hall, a digital arts wing with radio, TV and news studios and a 2,000-square-foot art gallery.

The design feature highlights include heat-recovery units, water usage, lighting, and the use of natural light and natural building materials. The centre has revitalized an earlier industrial brownfield site. It was recognized for reducing shipping costs by recycling local materials.

The awards will be conferred on December 12 in Columbus, Ohio during an event at the U.S. Green Building Council Ohio's Building Transformation Forum.

University Of Dayton – A Leader In Sustainability

Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) granted a STARS rating to the university. The university has been named one of the most environmentally responsible colleges in the US by Princeton Review Guide to Green Colleges: 2025 Edition.








According to the university's official statement, a $12.5 million gift from the George and Amanda Hanley Foundation in 2014 helped the university to establish the Hanley Sustainability Institute and boost many sustainability education initiatives.







UD's Center For Leadership Launches Accelerated Executive Leadership Program

The centre is launching an accelerated executive leadership group coaching program in the form of 90-minute virtual sessions to help senior leaders learn from the program.

"The center will hold a virtual information session 2-3 p.m. Nov. 21, featuring Jackie Insinger; who has been featured in Forbes, Inc., Entrepreneur and Fast Company, among others. The program will commence on April 9 with in-person, day-long sessions and it will be followed by six monthly virtual coaching sessions.
