This scholarship offers significant financial aid to Indian students who want to enrol in this course and make a career in biomedical science within the UK’s NHS. The scholarship value is £4,000 annually for the entire programme duration.
Dr Mark Williams, Associate Professor, School of Biological Sciences, University of East Anglia, UK said, “This scholarship represents our commitment to nurturing global talent in Biomedical Science. By combining financial support with our innovative NHS placement year, we have created a fantastic opportunity for students to receive world-class education and invaluable hands-on experience in the UK healthcare sector. UEA’s $4000 scholarship for Indians enrolling in BSc Biomedical Science: Details
One of the main highlights is the optional NHS placement year in the third year. It is a four-year duration program which will offer both practical and advanced theoretical knowledge to the students.
The placement will give students an opportunity to work in the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) -approved NHS medical laboratories as trainee biomedical scientists. However, placement depends on many factors including – demand, availability, student’s aptitude and academic performance. During the placement, students will complete the IBMS training portfolio, which is helpful for getting HCPC registration as professional Biomedical Scientists. The practical skills will also help them to make a successful career in this field.
Students enrolled in the BSc Biomedical Science have the flexibility to choose between two degrees Biomedical Science (BSc Hons) and Biomedicine (BSc Hons). The first-year curriculum is the same for both degrees and later on, the students can decide on their specialisation.
