University Of Ottawa Offers International English Scholarships

Study in Canada: The last date to apply for the International English Scholarships at the University Of Ottawa is March 1, 2025.

The University of Ottawa is offering International English Scholarships to foreign students which will offer significant reductions in their tuition fees while the students will be pursuing one of the eligible undergraduate programs at the university which is taught in English.

Students from India, Africa, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Vietnam will be automatically eligible for an average-based scholarship and Entrance or Excellence renewable when they are enrolled in an eligible undergraduate program which is being offered in English.

Eligibility Criteria For International English Scholarships

The international students must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the scholarships:

• Be a citizen of India, Africa, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Vietnam.
• They should be enrolled in a full-time course at the University of Ottawa.
• When the classes start, they should have a valid study permit.
• They should not enrol in the French immersion stream.
• The students should be newly admitted in the fall 2024 term or after in eligible English undergraduate programs.

"Excellence scholarships are awarded through a competitive process among the top candidates with an admission average of 90% or higher who apply for admission by March 1, 2025, and whose admission has been processed by March 15, 2025. Candidates whose first choice is the University of Ottawa will be favoured. Recipients must start their program in September. Insofar as possible and to maximize diversity, each faculty will award the same number of scholarships," reads the official statement.

The Number of Excellence scholarship is 20 and for the Entrance scholarship, the numbers are unlimited. International English Entrance Scholarship and International English Excellence Scholarship can be renewed for up to 12 instalments if the students meet the renewal criteria such as maintaining full-time enrolment in the undergraduate program and for the International English Entrance Scholarship they should have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 5.00 or higher when the academic year ends and for International English Excellence Scholarship, it should be a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 8.00 or higher.
