University Of Pennsylvania Launches AI Master's Degree Program In Education
University Of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education has announced the Ivy League’s First-Ever AI Degree Program in Education.
Study in US: The Graduate School of Education at the University Of Pennsylvania has announced a new AI degree program in education in Fall 2025. It is going to be a fully online program which drives innovation in education and integrates learning science and AI. The program is titled - Learning Analytics and Artificial Intelligence.
The George and Diane Weiss Professor of Education and Katharine O. Strunk, Dean of the Graduate School of Education jointly stated, “We’re thrilled to offer this new program, which equips graduates to spearhead transformative change in classrooms, technology companies, and educational institutions globally. The University of Pennsylvania is at the forefront of integrating AI into various disciplines, and this new degree is a testament to our dedication to innovation and excellence in service of the human good.”
Ryan S. Baker, Professor of Learning Sciences and Technologies at the Graduate School of Education commented, “More students around the world are now learning with AI and from AI. Our program addresses the need to develop practitioners and scholars who can build learning systems, based on solid learning sciences principles, that leverage AI to support teachers rather than disempower them, and provide them the necessary skills to harness the exciting new possibilities of generative AI to transform learning."
About Penn's AI Degree Program In Education
The new master's degree program is created to equip educators, data scientists, technologists and administrators with the necessary knowledge and skills to harness AI's potential in education settings. The broad range of topics covered in the curriculum includes data analytics, machine learning, technologies that adapt to student needs, the social contexts of data, and the ethical implications of AI in education. The online program is for the working professionals to gain AI tools and technologies' hands-on experience.
Penn's New Courses In AI
This master's program has been announced as part of the university's broader initiative to establish itself as a global leader in AI education and research. This fall, Penn Engineering has launched two programs which include - an online Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) in AI and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE).
