University Of Queensland Invites Applications For Destination Australia Scholarship

Indian students interested in studying in Australia can apply for the Destination Australia Scholarship to ease the financial burden of studying in Australia. This scholarship is funded by the Australian government to encourage international students to study in Australia. The application deadline is January 20, 2025.

This scholarship is available for postgraduate coursework in Mathematics, Science, Agriculture and Animal Sciences. The scholarship focuses on financial hardship, academic excellence, rural or remote, experiences and employability.

Eligibility Criteria For Destination Australia Scholarship At Queensland University

The following are the eligibility criteria for the Destination Australia Scholarship:

  • The students must be a foreign student
  • The candidate should be enrolled for a course commencing in 2025
  • The applicant should hold a full-time offer to study by the University of Queensland.
  • Applicants can also be UQ alumni enrolling in a different program.

More Details

To get the Destination Australia Scholarship at the University Of Queensland, the student must be enrolled in either of these three programs in 2025- Master of Animal Science, Master of Agricultural Science, and Master of Agribusiness.

The student also needs to submit a personal statement of around 300 words which is one of the selection criteria and will be assessed thoroughly by the admission team. Other selection criteria include academic merit and eligibility under the program guidelines. The scholarship value is around AUD $15,000 per year.

The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) awarded 28 grants to researchers at the University of Queensland. These grants have totalled over $29 million.

Among these 28 grants, 24 are Ideas Grants, one postgraduate scholarship and 3 Development Grants. The NHMRC programs are to transform discoveries into real-world benefits for society, shape health policy and practice and improve patient outcomes. The university is also celebrating its most successful cohort of New Colombo Plan (NCP) Scholarships. 11 students of the University Of Queensland are all set to go to the Indo-Pacific in 2025 to study and do internships. The scholarship offers mentorships, internships, language study programs and research opportunities across Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, New Caledonia and Taiwan.
