University of Sheffield invites applications for Civil Engineering MEng Course
In Times UK University Rankings 2024, the University of Sheffield is positioned in the UK's top ten for civil engineering.
Study in UK: The University of Sheffield in the UK is currently accepting applications for MEng in Civil Engineering. The duration of the course is four years. Tuition fees for the 2025 entry have not been confirmed hence, the university said to use international students 2024-25 tuition fee £29,110 as a reference to get an idea.
The course claims that the students will get a good understanding of the core disciplines of structures, geotechnics and water engineering. During the later part of the course, students will get to learn more advanced and specialized water engineering modules.
The eligibility requirement is the student must have passed Class 12 with 85% from CBSE or CISCE & Maharashtra State Board, 80% if they are passing out from India - West Bengal Board and 90% if appearing in Class 12 through India – Other state boards. The IELTS grade should be 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in each component, or the applicant can also submit an alternative acceptable English language qualification.
MEng in Civil Engineering: More Details
Students will develop advanced multidisciplinary design and technical skills in civil engineering, they will learn to tackle complex issues related to resilient infrastructure and sustainability.
The course focuses on civil engineering design and analysis with the recent research on sustainable development.
The students will get to participate in group projects that will challenge them to solve real-world problems while developing skills such as teamwork, communication and project management. They will get the opportunity to apply their engineering knowledge to create solutions for these problems.
The later part of the course extends the students' design experience and prepares them for their future careers. It allows them to specialize in the advanced topics of their choice.

The course challenges you to solve increasingly complex problems – so that you'll graduate as a skilled, competent and well-rounded engineer, ready to make a contribution to engineering a more sustainable world," reads the official statement of the university.
