VIT collaborates with renowned US universities; Details Here
VIT Founder and Chancellor G. Viswanathan visited the USA and signed agreements with various US universities.
Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore has inked educational and research agreements with various US institutions including University of North Texas for the exchange of faculty and students, University of Texas at San Antonio, the University of Texas at Dallas and Vanderbilt University.
Under the agreement, VIT will conduct joint workshops, conferences and seminars with these universities. The institute will also have joint sponsored research programmes and an exchange of scholarly publications.
During their visit to USA, G. Viswanathan, Founder and Chancellor, VIT and R. Seenivasan, Director, International Relations signed Letter of Intent (LoI) with these universities.
About the collaboration, Mr. Viswanathan said, “VIT is proud to partner with renowned U.S. institutions because it shares common areas of research interests in state-of-the-art technologies of research and development,” as reported by The Hindu.
"As a part of his visit to the USA, the Chancellor had a meeting with a LOI agreement signing at the University of North Texas, Dallas," reads a message by VIT on X platform.
"During his visit to the United States, our Honorable Chancellor Dr. G. Viswanathan met a delegation from the #UniversityofTexas #Dallas and discussed on strengthening the working relationship between the two institutions," said another message on X.
University of North Texas stands out with strategic industry alliances and financial planning degree
University of North Texas provides a Bachelor of Business Administration for financial planning course which is one of its type in Texas. The program offers students a marketable and unique career path and it is certified by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.
Clinical assistant professor and Financial Planning Program director Mark Evers said, “There are so many financial planning and financial services companies in the DFW metroplex that need students to work for them. The industry has a huge need for more talent, and we want to be the first university they turn to for their needs. My goal is to become the number one program in the country in quality and in number of graduates.”
UNT senior Nia Gilmore who has done very well professionally and academically talked about the program's hands-on approach, “These classes are very relevant during college, when I’m learning to manage my own finances and starting to handle paying my own bills. It’s becoming even more significant now that I’m about to start a full-time job.”
