Western Sydney University Australia Plans To Open New Campus In Greater Noida
Further strengthening the India-Australia educational ties, now another Australian university, Western Sydney University is all set to open its campus in India.
Study Abroad: After Deakin and the University of Wollongong came to India, now another Australian leading university Western Sydney University is planning to open its campus in Greater Noida.
Australian High Commissioner to India, Philip Green shared this on the X platform.
He said, "Another Australian University is coming to India! Excited to see this announcement of @westernsydneyau planning to set up a campus in Greater Noida - this will be the third university campus in India & first in the state of #UttarPradesh."
It is in line with both countries' ongoing efforts to boost educational ties and promote student and faculty exchange. Earlier, Deakin and the University of Wollongong opened campuses in GIFT City, Gujarat.
Western Sydney University Existing Ties With India: More Details
On its official page, the university has said that it is one of its commitments to deepen ties with India by supporting students, investing in research and collaborating with industry partners.
"We provide opportunities for our staff and students to exchange ideas with the brightest minds in India by partnering with leading Indian institutions and scholars on commercialisation and research to support the continued economic growth and social development of both India and Australia," reads the university statement.
The university has collaborated with India in the fields of One Health, Public Health, Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, Energy, Entrepreneurship, and Agriculture. It is working with more than 80 researchers on joint projects across India.
Western Sydney University has inked ties with Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Asha Community Health and Development Society, O.P Jindal Global University, Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences, Authentica Ventures, Indian School of Business, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research and Public Health Foundation of India, and Nagaland University.
The university also provides exchange opportunities through field schools, study abroad, internships and short-term research placements, Open Learning Environment programs, and Industry and Community Project Units (ICPUs).
