About Kursk State Medical University

Kursk State Medical University History
The Kursk State Medical University located in Kursk Western Russia was established in 1935 on Feb 9 by order of the Council of People’s Commissars No 89. The first appointed director of KSMU was physician V.I. Deshevoi. Some buildings belonging to a college were given to KSMU for its main university allocation, these buildings underwent proper reconstruction, equipment, and some other additional construction. All the necessities for the functioning of the university had been prepared by 1940 with the inclusion of departments such as biology, anatomy, general chemistry, and physics. An auditorium and a museum were also added. The very first graduation ceremony of 186 physicians was held on 30th June 1940. The Kursk State Medical University is a state university.
