  3. Education: Based on the quality of education, the US states are ranked for their schools and higher education institutions. 
  4. Fiscal Stability: State government’s budgets and revenue stability plus how they are spent on education help rank the US states. 
  5. Health Care: Metrics defining the US state’s access to healthcare, the quality of healthcare and its importance to public health help rank the US states. 
  6. Infrastructure: Based on the overall infrastructure of the US state the rankings are decided for the US state. 
  7. Natural Environment: This area includes the air and water quality available in the concerned US state. 
  8. Opportunity: There are factors like economic opportunities, equality and affordability of the US state.
