About Birmingham City University
Birmingham City University, a public institute, came into being as a merger of five individual colleges in 1971 as the City of Birmingham Polytechnic. Those five colleges were Birmingham College of Art, Birmingham School of Music, Birmingham College of Commerce, South Birmingham Technical College, and North Birmingham Technical College. Birmingham City University has two campuses namely the City Centre Campus and City South Campus. The City Centre Campus comprises a number of buildings such as the Curzon Building, Parkside Building, Joseph Priestley Building etc. On the other hand, City South Campus is home to the university’s Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences.
