Q:   How many indian students are studying in University of Derby?

A: 

The University of Derby welcomes more than 2000 international students from around 100 countries. For admission to undergraduate programmes, Indian students must have a grade point average of at least 70% in their 12th grade. A score of at least 75% in English from the CBSE, CICSE, and Maharashtra boards is required. You may be qualified for one of the University’s scholarships as an Indian student, which when combined can lower your tuition costs for the first year of study. Once you've received an offer from the University of Derby, you can apply for a scholarship.

Q:   How to apply for a UK visa?

A: 

Aspirants need the mandatory documentation as well as supporting proof of their finances and academic performance for the UK student visa. Before applying, you should have the following documents:

1) A fully filled out student visa application

2) You must have evidence of your parents' or guardian's approval if you are under the age of 18.

3) a letter confirming enrollment in the course. An offer to study will be made to you by your approved education provider in the form of an acceptance letter (CAS, or Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies), as well as a visa letter. The visa letter must be issued no more than six months before you apply. Within six months of getting their CAS, students must apply for a study visa for the UK. A visa letter does not assure acceptance of your application. The applicant must adhere to any additional immigration laws as well as any category requirements.

4) Proof of funds - The money you need to show covers your course fees for your first year of study and living costs for up to a maximum of 9 months (1 academic year). The amount you will need depends on whether you are applying as a child or adult and whether you will be studying in or out of London. You must show that you have held the money for at least 28 days. The end of that 28-day period must not be more than one month before the date of your application.

a. You must show the following amount of money to meet basic living costs (not including fees) for a period of up to nine months i.e. £12,006 for nine months ( £1,334 per month) if you are living in London and £9,207 for nine months (£1,023 per month) if you are living outside London.

b. However, if a student has been in the UK, with a valid visa, for at least 12 months, he/ she does not have to show proof of funds for visa application

c. The visa fees payment confirmation receipt

d. ATAS certificate if your nationality and course need it
