In 1938, the Voorhis School for Boys was taken over by California Polytechnic School. In 1966, it was named California State Polytechnic College, Kellogg-Voorhis. The present name was adopted in 1972. California State Polytechnic University is situated in Pomona. The Voorhis Ecological Reserve is situated in the northwest area of the campus. Collins College of Hospitality Management is on the Horsehill, which is in the middle of the campus. The 1920 Kellogg House is also situated there. Locations for recreation include the Japanese garden designed by Takeo Uesugi, rose garden, Kellogg House that was designed by Myron Hunt, Harold Coulson Chambers, and Charles Gibbs Adams.
Cal Poly Pomona's academic structure includes 9 colleges offering cutting-edge education to students from all over. The Don B. Huntley College of Agriculture offers majors in Agribusiness and Food Industry Management/ Agricultural Science, Animal and Veterinary Sciences, Apparel Merchandising and Management, Nutrition and Food Science, and Plant Science. The College of Environmental Design has undergrad degrees in Landscape Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, Visual Communication Design, and Art History. Master’s degree is provided in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, and Regenerative Studies. College of the Extended University offers programs like Construction Management, Engineering and Manufacturing, Youth Programs, AutoCad, Six Sigma, and Brewing Science. The Collins College of Hospitality Management offers courses in Hospitality Industry, Hotel Operations, Sanitation Practices, and Management Law. The College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences has departments in Communication, Economics, English and Modern Languages, etc.
