Standing as the sixth-best value school in Pennsylvania in 2022, Duquesne University has a record of appreciable graduate placement in terms of jobs, internships, and co-ops. 75% of the students who had responded stated that they had one or more internship or career-centric work experiences. The average number of internship experiences reported per student was three. Before joining the graduate programs, 18% of the students had one work experience and 16% of the students had two work experiences. 10% of the students had three work experiences and 24% of them had five or more experiences. 25% of the students did not report any experience.

The university also ranks 65^th worldwide in the Best Value Schools category (2022) and 148^th on the Best National Universities list (2022).

Out of this, 5,112 students were pursuing a bachelor’s degree, whereas 3,221 students were pursuing a post-graduate degree. The top five nations from which students had come to study here are China (95), India (63), Saudi Arabia (45), Nigeria (19), and Canada (16).

Duquesne Placement Stats by Industry 2021

Going by the industry, the highest graduate employment was witnessed in Healthcare, with 44% of the university students obtaining a job. This was followed by K-12 Education and Higher Education, with graduate employment being 10% and 6% respectively. Retail stood fourth place, with 5% of the students getting hired. The least percentage of employment was witnessed in the Government sector, with only 2% of the students getting hired.

The university subject with the highest graduate employment was Nursing, with 91% of the students holding its degree getting employed. This was followed by Pharmacy and Business, with 87% and 77% of the students holding their degrees obtaining a job. Information regarding the initial salary was provided by 422 students who also stated that by the time they graduated they had a job. Signing bonus was obtained by 49 university graduates. The overall average salary recorded was $62,685 and the median salary was $57,000. Similarly, the average signing bonus obtained was $4,944 and the median signing bonus was $5,000.
