Quincy University is a private Roman Catholic Liberal Arts University. The university was established in 1860 by Franciscan Friars. It is authorized by the Higher Learning Commission. The university also holds special recognition from the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). The university provides a low faculty-student ratio of 14:1 and an average class size of 20 students.

Situated in Quincy, Illinois, The university offers more than 40 undergraduate programs, 9 pre-professional programs, and 3 graduate programs. The university maintains two schools and four divisions. The schools are dedicated to subjects, including Education and Business. And, the divisions are dedicated to Science and Technology, Behavioral and Social Sciences, Humanities, and Fine Arts and Communication. It adopts resources and classroom technology in accordance with the specific academic courses. The university provides all the leading amenities to its students in the form of upgraded laboratories dedicated to subjects, including Chemistry, Computer Science, Biology, and Cybersecurity.

The university provides a Master of Science in Education in Counseling, Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed) at the graduate level. The university maintains a health and fitness center. It offers opportunities for a variety of sports like sand volleyball, flag football, bowling, floor hockey, basketball, mini-golf, and darts. More than half of the students of the university participate in NCCAA Division II Sports. The university also offers scholarships based on merit and the recipient student has to maintain the necessary cumulative GPA or other specified levels of performance to avail benefits under the scheme.
