History
The University of Colorado, Colorado Springs was founded in 1965. However, the traces of history go back to the 1920s, when the University of Colorado started offering courses at different locations in Colorado Springs. In 1973, the School of Business was reorganized as the College of Business. In 1975, the University Centre opened. For the first time in 1978, more women registered at UCCS than men. In 1990, the university celebrated its 25th anniversary. In the same year, the university became a full member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II. In 2001, the School of Education was renamed to the College of Education.
