PCC for Ireland Visa: Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) is issued to Indian passport holders who have applied for Residential Status, Employment or Long Term visas or for immigration to countries abroad. The PCC full form is Police Clearance Certificate. A PCC is not issued to Indian passport holders who are travelling abroad on a Tourist Visa.

Indian students looking to study in Ireland are required to provide an original Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) which is no older than 6 months from the date of the issue along with their Ireland Study Visa application. Students who are looking to study in Ireland should note that if they have been residents in another country for a period of greater than 1 year, are required to provide a Police Clearance Certificate for that country.

The PCC is a mandatory document for all students who are applying for Long Stay Visas in a foreign country. Passport PCC means the application for a Police Clearance Certificate for a visa for permanent residence in a foreign country. Step 1: Applicants are required to ‘Register’ through the Passport Seva Online Portal.

Step 2: Log in to the Passport Seva Online Portal with the Login ID created in Step 1.

Step 3: Click "Apply for Police Clearance Certificate" link.

Step 4: Fill in the required details in the form and submit.

Step 5: Click the "Pay and Schedule Appointment" link on the "View Saved/Submitted Applications" screen to schedule an appointment.

  • Online Payment has been made mandatory for booking appointments at all PSK/POPSK/PO.
  • Online Payment can be made using any one of the following modes:
    • Credit/Debit Card (MasterCard and Visa)
    • Internet Banking (State Bank of India (SBI) Associate Banks and Other Banks)
    • SBI Bank Challan

Step 6: Click the "Print Application Receipt" link to print the application receipt containing the Application Reference Number (ARN)/Appointment Number.








Note: Carrying a printout of the Application Receipt is no longer required. An SMS with your appointment details is also accepted as proof of appointment during your visit to Passport Office.

Step 7: Visit the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK)/Regional Passport Office (RPO) where an appointment has been booked, along with original documents.







PCC for Ireland Student Visa: e-Form Submission

Step 1: Download the e-Form through the "Download e-Form " link available on the Home Page.

Step 2: Fill out the downloaded e-Form and click the Validate and Save button in it. This will generate an XML file, which will be required later for uploading into the system.

PCC for Ireland Visa from India: List of Documents Required

If the applicant's present personal particulars have changed in the Passport and the address is different from that in the existing passport, the following documents are required to be submitted:

  • For applicants whose personal particulars such as Given name, parent's name, date of birth, place of birth in the PCC application form are different than the Passport held, then they have to apply for re-issue of the passport with changed/current particulars as provided in the PCC application form and a fresh Police Verification report may be generated.
  • Only after the re-issue of the passport with changed/existing particulars, the PCC application against such reissued passport may be processed. Applicants requiring changes in present address or addition of spouse name (due to marriage post-issuance of passport), can submit present address proof document and marriage certificate and in such cases, change of particulars in the passport is not required.
  • Old passport in original with self-attested photocopy of its first two and last two pages including ECR/Non-ECR page and page of observation (if any).
  • Proof Of Present Residential Address

If the applicant's present personal particulars have not changed in the Passport and the address is different from that in the existing passport, the following documents are required to be submitted:
