I am absolutely satisfied with the faculty members and placements.
Placements: Around 80-90% of students are placed in this course. The average salary after M.S surgery course often range between Rs. 60,000 and Rs. 1.2 lakhs per month. Roles after MS general surgery include subspecialty training, academic and teaching roles, clinical practice, and many others.
Infrastructure: It has well-developed infrastructure and facilities that support medical education, research, and patient care. Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and library are available. We also have a central library, which is large and we also have a modern library with thousands of medical books and journals. Quality of food is good, and the mess and canteen are too well. Food is made with hygiene and is healthy.
Faculty: The department is well staffed and organised into multiple units and is divided into 5-6 surgical units each led by a professors or additional professor. The MS program at JIPMER follows the national commission NMC guidelines but also has institute specific enhancement. Exams are conducted by JIPMER Deemed University with internal and external examiners.

Other: Basically, I like this course because it provides almost knowledge about eye. The best things about this course are having the practical sessions and camps, and mostly direct interactions with patients. All things are improved in this course. It is a hygienic campus with professional faculty members.
Placements: The package differs for students, it is based on the students' performance during training. Mostly postgraduate students prefer to start their own branches instead of working in other hospitals. Also, they give good offers, with a salary package of up to 30 LPA.
Infrastructure: Training and practical classes are done in the hospital of JIMPER, which is within the college campus. Hostel fees are slightly higher than expected. Education fees are given to the students based on their marks in the entrance examinations. Students must dress formally.
Faculty: By the way, teachers are highly experienced in the field of medicine. They keep handling some patients on all days. With such cases, we are able to gain a lot of knowledge, with live practical demos. The course curriculum are so heavy to study before the exams.
