JNU Delhi Courses and Fees 2026
JNU University comprises nearly 14 schools and 50+ centres of study offering over 100 courses with a wide range of specialisations. The university offers UG, PG and PhD courses across various streams like Enginnering, Arts, Science, Management, and others. At the UG level, the university offers BTech, BSc, BA, and other courses. At the PG level, the university offers MTech, MBA, MSc, MA, MPH, and other programmes offered to the students.
The duration of most of the UG courses ranges between three to five years, however, the PG courses are mostly offered for a duration of two years. JNU follows a very inclusive policy for students from reserved categories. If you belong to the SC, ST, or PH (Physically Handicapped) categories, your BTech tuition fee is entirely waived, regardless of what your family's annual income might be. This means you do not have to worry about the INR 62,500 semester charge at all. However, keep in mind that this waiver only applies to the "Tuition" portion of the bill. JNU University has a dedicated placement cell, known as the JNU Placement Cell to provide placement assistance to students. The JNU Placement cell conducts various workshops, placement camps, and trade fairs to bridge the gap between the recruiters and students.
As per the NIRF report 2025 released, a total of 30 students were placed and 327 students were selected out of total 357 students during JNU UG 3-year placements 2024. In PG 2-year programs, 188 students were placed and 1244 students were selected for higher studies out of total 1432 students during PG 2-year placements 2024. According to JNU’s School of Engineering (SOE) placement report 2023, the overall highest package (Off Campus) offered in 2023 was INR 33 LPA. The highest and average package (On-Campus) received during JNU SOE placement 2023 was INR 16 LPA and INR 11 LPA.

Jawaharlal Nehru University has state-of-the-art infrastructure which includes all the necessary amenities. The university includes classrooms, library, medical facility, labs, seminar halls, modern amenities, convocation centre, hostel, mess and others.
JNU has 18 hostels for boys and girls and one complex accommodating married students. The university gives first priority to students admitted in a full-time programmes and have passed their qualifying exam from places outside Delhi. The student must not be a resident of Delhi except those who are admitted to a level at which the student already has a degree or has pursued studies in JNU.
Students who have passed their qualifying examinations from Delhi but have stayed in recognised University/College hostels and are not resident of Delhi are also provided hostel.

Yes, candidates seeking admission to the JNU MA course must appear for the CUET-PG entrance exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The students are admitted on merit based on their performance in the entrance test and the deprivation points are added to their score in accordance with the approved admission Policy and Procedures of the University. No, JNU is quite supportive when it comes to financial backgrounds. The university uses a tiered system to make education affordable. If your family's annual income is below INR 1 Lakh, you fall into the "Economically Most Backward" category and your BTech tuition fee is completely waived, meaning you pay INR 0 for tuition. For those with a family income between INR 1 Lacs and INR 5 Lakhs, the fee is heavily subsidized at just INR 20,833 per semester. Only students whose family income exceeds INR 5 Lakhs per year are required to pay the full tuition fee of INR 62,500.
Candidates seeking admission to the JNU MA course must have a BCA/Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks. Candidates who have passed BSc/ BCom/ BA with Mathematics at Class 12 or at Graduation level with a minimum aggregate of 55%. Apart from the minimum eligibility requirement, candidates also need to appear for the Central University Entrance Test (Postgraduate) CUET-PG entrance test.
