About Lethbridge College
In 1957, the proposal for Lethbridge Junior College was approved, making it Canada’s first publicly funded community college. The college is located in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. Basketball has been the longest-running team sport on campus, with the men’s league created in 1958 and the women’s league formed in 1959. Then, in 1962, the first building (Andrews Building) on campus was opened. The institution celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2007 and marked the milestone with another name change, Lethbridge College.
